He has cited \u2064the First Amendment in\u200c his lawsuit against the mayor.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_79\">\n<p>Mayor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/tiffany-henyard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Tiffany Henyard<\/a> of Dolton, Illinois, is facing a lawsuit for allegedly wrongfully terminating an employee in the latest string of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/politics\/3004665\/mayor-pro-tempore-appointed-to-serve-for-worst-mayor-in-america-during-corruption-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>controversies<\/a> facing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiffanyhenyard.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>self-described<\/a> \u201csuper mayor\u201d in the south-of-Chicago suburb.<\/p>\n<p>Former maintenance manager Dwayne Thrash stated that he believes his refusal to cooperate with Henyard and her assistant Keith Freeman in firing another employee is what got him fired. He also alleged that he was terminated after being accused of workplace violations that occurred while he was on scheduled vacation. <a href=\"https:\/\/static.fox32chicago.com\/www.fox32chicago.com\/content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/1-Thrash-Complaint-061324.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>The lawsuit<\/a> cites the First Amendment\u2019s right to freedom of speech and the 14th Amendment\u2019s right to due process as the basis of the suit. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEver since Henyard became Mayor of the Village of Dolton and Supervisor of Thornton Township, she and her closest allies within the Village of Dolton and Thornton Township, including Freeman, have terminated the employment of several individuals they feel pose a political threat to Henyard and her public image, and\/or who run afoul of Henyard and\/or Freeman by defying their wishes,\u201d the lawsuit says.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit accuses Henyard and Freeman of asking Thrash to help them find a way to fire Thornton Township Trustees of Schools attorney Sarie Winner to replace her with Del Galdo Law Group LLC, which is allegedly Freeman\u2019s preferred law firm.
