Despite these concerns, the\u2064 White House\u200b has not released a cognitive health summary\u2062 but maintains that President Biden remains \u201cactive\u201d\u200d and \u201crobust.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>With some polls showing former President <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> down 5% in support from seniors, President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> could have an opening to up his game with a traditionally Republican voting bloc. <\/p>\n<p>The <em>Wall Street Journal\u2019s<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/politics\/elections\/voters-are-more-upbeat-on-economy-but-biden-gets-little-benefit-wsj-poll-shows-8e608db8?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>national<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/politics\/elections\/trump-biden-poll-swing-states-ad594acb?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>swing-state<\/a> polls have Trump pulling in\u00a046% of senior voters, down from 51% in 2020. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/analysis-the-latest-approval-numbers-dont-look-great-for-biden\/\" title=\"ANALYSIS: The Latest Approval Numbers Don\u2019t Look Great For Biden\">latest polling data<\/a> comes as the Biden campaign steps up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3000752\/biden-campaign-steps-up-efforts-to-convince-older-voters-to-abandon-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>outreach<\/a> to older voters. In swing states across the country, Biden volunteers are organizing bingo games and pickleball events, while the campaign is running ads during shows favored by older voters such as the <em>Price is Right<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>Matt Grossmann, the director of the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research at Michigan State University, told the newspaper he thinks \u201cone hypothesis for why older voters look more likely to support Biden may be that older voters are less concerned about Biden\u2019s age.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At 81 years old, concerns about Biden\u2019s cognitive health have intensified. In March 2024, a report from special counsel Robert Hur stated he found the president\u2019s memory \u201cfuzzy,\u201d \u201chazy,\u201d and \u201cpoor.\u201d According to the report, Biden was unable to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-seizes-on-bidens-g7-skydiving-wander-turn-around-you-fool\/\" title=\"Trump capitalizes on Biden's G7 skydiving confusion: \"Turn around, you fool!\">remember basic life events<\/a>, such as when his son Beau died or when he served as vice president. While it\u2019s not clear Democrats can move the needle with older voters significantly, even minor shifts could change the game in states such as <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/wisconsin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Wisconsin<\/a>. The swing state is home to more than 1 million seniors, including nearly 20% of the state\u2019s residents. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2020-election\/results\/wisconsin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2020<\/a>, Joe Biden flipped the state blue by only 20,000 votes. According to a Bloomberg\/Morning Consult <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/donald-trump-swing-state-polls-joe-biden-election-1903552\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>poll<\/a>, Trump is leading Joe Biden 47% to 46% in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s performance among senior voters could stem from his mixed messaging on key issues such as Social Security and Medicare.<\/p>\n<p>In March, the former president launched a media firestorm when he told CNBC that \u201cthere\u2019s a lot you can do in terms of entitlements, in terms of cutting.\u201d Trump later backtracked, saying he would never \u201cjeopardize or hurt Social Security and Medicare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At a Detroit rally last Saturday, Trump reiterated his support for the entitlement programs.\u00a0\u201cI will always protect Medicare and Social Security for our great seniors. And you know, your Social Security and Medicare are under siege because of the people coming over the border.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At an Arizona rally on June 6, Trump sounded a similar note. \u201cWe\u2019re going to save your social security,\u201d the former president told roaring crowds. \u201cBiden is putting your Social Security at risk by allowing all of these people to pour into our country.
