Psaki served as Biden\u2019s White House Press Secretary from January 2021 to May 2022 \u2062and currently hosts \u200dher\u2064 own show on MSNBC, where she continues\u200b to support Biden and criticize\u2064 former President Donald Trump and his Republican supporters.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Former White House Press Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/jen-psaki\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jen Psaki<\/a> has agreed to testify for a congressional investigation into the Biden administration\u2019s chaotic 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan \u2014 but with a catch that may still result in a subpoena being issued, a top House Republican announced on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX), who had <a href=\"https:\/\/foreignaffairs.house.gov\/press-release\/chairman-mccaul-sends-final-letter-requesting-psaki-testify-on-afghanistan-withdrawal-or-face-subpoena\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">threatened to subpoena<\/a> Psaki if she did not stop dodging an interview after several months of correspondence, said her counsel sent a response last week, and now a transcribed interview has been scheduled for July 26.<\/p>\n<p>Yet the issue is not fully resolved, as McCaul said in a new <a href=\"https:\/\/foreignaffairs.house.gov\/press-release\/chairman-mccaul-secures-date-for-transcribed-interview-of-jen-psaki-for-afghanistan-withdrawal-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to Psaki that it is his understanding that she \u201cconditioned\u201d her appearance upon receiving approval from the White House. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-committee-demands-transparency-on-how-consumer-drug-prices-are-set\/\" title=\"House panel wants to know how drug prices are set.\">chairman noted<\/a> that his committee is willing to attend any meetings geared toward overcoming the hurdle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I hope to proceed with your voluntary appearance, I expect you to have resolved the conditionality of your appearance by June 26, 2024,\u201d McCaul said. \u201cIf not, I must treat your June 12 response as a refusal to appear and you will be compelled to sit for a deposition on July 26, 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Psaki served as Biden\u2019s White House press secretary from the beginning of his administration on January 20, 2021, to May 13, 2022, and then was <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/jen-psaki-msnbc-46ef9b47120f971de7a48fb93c8c9412\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hired<\/a> by MSNBC. During her time at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/when-motive-matters-and-when-it-doesnt\/\" title=\"When Motive Matters\u2014And When It Doesn\u2019t\">left-leaning cable news network<\/a>, where she hosts her own show, Psaki has continued to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/entertainment\/psaki-defends-biden-ducking-ny-times-interview-on-the-view-he-should-do-more-howard-stern-and-smartless\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defend<\/a> Biden while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/trump-unhinged-2666426294\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disparaging<\/a> former President Donald Trump and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/jen-psaki-tears-apart-several-050049694.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Republican lawmakers<\/a> who back him.<\/p>\n<p>McCaul, who has been trying to get Psaki to sit for an interview since September, began <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/gop-chair-flashes-subpoena-threat-at-psaki-after-book-mishap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signaling the prospect of a subpoena<\/a> in May after Psaki\u2019s new book, \u201cSay More,\u201d drew controversy for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/psaki-literally-rewrites-history-with-biden-watch-controversy-gets-caught\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">falsely claiming<\/a> Biden never checked his watch during a ceremony for U.S. service members killed in a suicide bombing attack on the Kabul airport.
