Meanwhile, states like Kansas, Idaho, and Missouri were prepared to further legal challenges, potentially setting the stage\u2062 for \u2064future Supreme Court involvement.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Supreme Court&#8217;s\u2063 ruling left open the possibility for future actions both to challenge and solidify \u200dthe availability of mifepristone. Following the\u200b decision, President Joe Biden&#8217;s\u2062 administration reaffirmed its \u2063commitment to promoting\u2063 reproductive rights and access to abortion, particularly emphasizing\u2064 the continued need to combat \u2062legislative \u2063and ideological opposition \u200cto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-judge-blocks-ind-abortion-reversal-law\/\" title=\"Federal judge blocks Ind. \u2018abortion reversal\u2019 law\">medication-induced abortion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The narrative \u2062around mifepristone\u200b is contentious, with critics \u200dhighlighting its \u2063associated risks, \u200dsuch \u200das significant increases\u200c in abortion-related ER \u2064visits, and potential severe side effects. \u200cIn contrast, proponents argue for \u200cits crucial role in reproductive healthcare and emphasize the\u200c safety and efficacy of treatments such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-constitutional-trainwreck-nun-sues-d-c-mayor-over-covid-19-vaccination-mandate\/\" title=\"\u2018A Constitutional Trainwreck\u2019: Nun Sues D.C. Mayor Over COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate\">abortion pill reversals<\/a>, which have\u2063 been deemed \u2062safe by several studies despite political controversies.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<figure>\n<p>         <span>Image Credit<\/span>FDRLST\/Canva       <\/p>\n<\/figure><\/div>\n<p>The Supreme Court ruled last week that the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine et al., a coalition of medical professionals sworn to <a href=\"https:\/\/allianceforhippocraticmedicine.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cprotecting the vulnerable at the beginning and end of life,\u201d<\/a> did not have adequate legal standing to challenge the U.S. Food and Drug Administration\u2019s rushed approval and mail-order expansion of the drug regimen responsible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/article\/2022\/02\/medication-abortion-now-accounts-more-half-all-us-abortions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more than half<\/a> of the nation\u2019s abortions. <\/p>\n<p>Corporate media gladly used the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/23pdf\/23-235_n7ip.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unanimous decision<\/a>, which was largely procedural and did not offer a moral or legal judgment on the actual use of abortion pills, as ammo to fuel their abortion allies\u2019 attempts to expand baby-killing even in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/state-policy\/explore\/medication-abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dozens of pro-life states<\/a> that have restricted or banned it.<\/p>\n<p>Only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alisondurkee\/2024\/06\/13\/supreme-court-keeps-abortion-pill-mifepristone-legal-but-gop-states-could-still-sue-heres-what-happens-next\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a few<\/a> were <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/judiciary\/4722273-mifepristone-is-safe-for-now-but-another-challenge-waits-on-the-horizon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">willing to admit<\/a> that the true nature of the opinion penned by Justice Brett Kavanaugh leaves the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/meghan-markle-accuses-royal-family-of-perpetuating-lies-mocks-them-as-the-firm\/\" title=\"Meghan Markle Accuses Royal Family Of Perpetuating Lies, Mocks Them As \u2018The Firm\u2019\">door wide open<\/a> for a stronger challenge to make its way to the high court. Kansas, Idaho, and Missouri, whose attempts to join the SCOTUS case were declined, already appear <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/DocketPDF\/23\/23-235\/298312\/20240122150358882_A.%202024-01-22%20-%20Alliance%20v.%20FDA%20-%20Motion%20to%20Intervene.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">teed up<\/a> for more viable legal action over the abortion pill. <\/p>\n<p>SCOTUS\u2019s refusal to rule on the merits of the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine\u2019s case, however, also leaves the door open for abortion activists and their elected allies to do everything in their power to solidify mifepristone\u2019s presence in their post-<em>Dobbs v. Jackson <\/em>baby-killing schemes. Especially because the court\u2019s instruction for those worried about the pill to take it up with the administrative state <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theamericanconservative.com\/what-the-abortion-pill-ruling-means-for-conservatives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">will likely fall on the FDA\u2019s deliberately deaf ears. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the court\u2019s ruling last week, President Joe Biden\u2019s White House issued <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/06\/13\/statement-from-president-joe-biden-on-supreme-court-decision-on-fda-v-alliance-for-hippocratic-medicine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an official statement<\/a> signaling its continued commitment to advancing its abortion-for-all agenda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s decision does not change the fact that the fight for reproductive freedom continues,\u201d the comment begins. <\/p>\n<p>The four-paragraph statement frames criticism of the pill <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/public-health-threat-chemical-abortion-leads-to-significantly-higher-rate-of-er-visits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">responsible<\/a> for a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/04\/07\/federal-judge-says-fda-wrongfully-approved-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">500 percent increase<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/women-misrepresenting-chemical-abortions-as-miscarriages-at-increased-risk-of-multiple-hospitalizations-study-finds\/\" title=\"Women Misrepresenting Chemical Abortions As Miscarriages At Increased Risk Of Multiple Hospitalizations, Study Finds\">abortion-related emergency room visits<\/a> as \u201cattacks on medication abortion\u201d that are \u201cpart of Republican elected officials\u2019 extreme and dangerous agenda to ban abortion nationwide.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration\u2019s quest to keep promoting abortion pills that can cause <a href=\"https:\/\/prochoice.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/phone_triage_guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hemorrhage<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/drugs-supplements\/mifepristone-oral-route\/side-effects\/drg-20067123\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cfast, weak pulse,\u201d \u201cshortness of breath,\u201d diarrhea, dizziness, headache, vomiting<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/drugs-supplements\/mifepristone-oral-route\/side-effects\/drg-20067123\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cpain\u201d across the back, arms, neck, and abdomen<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/fact-sheet-risks-and-complications-of-chemical-abortion\/#_ftn19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">myriad other risks<\/a> to both mothers and babies is joined by states that not only <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/17\/why-south-dakotas-abortion-referendum-could-finally-produce-a-pro-life-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">entertain deceptive abortion ballot<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/03\/every-state-facing-deceptive-unlimited-abortion-ballot-measures-this-november\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">measures<\/a> but also abuse their power to squash pro-lifers.<\/p>\n<p>New York Attorney General Letitia James, for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/13\/ny-ag-letitia-james-sues-pregnancy-centers-over-life-saving-abortion-pill-reversal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">is using lawfare<\/a> to target pregnancy centers in her state that promote lifesaving abortion pill reversals, which <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/abortion-pill-reversal-a-record-of-safety-and-efficacy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">several<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/30831017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">studies<\/a> have <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/37969420\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">determined<\/a> are \u201csafe and effective\u201d and resulted in \u201cno apparent increased risk of birth defects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mifepristone, on the other hand, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/drugs-supplements\/mifepristone-oral-route\/side-effects\/drg-20067123?p=1#:~:text=Mifepristone%20is%20used%20in%20a,of%20the%20uterus%20are%20expelled.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cuts off the hormones<\/a> babies in utero require to grow and flourish, essentially killing the child via starvation. Then, the pill induces a form of labor that causes the likely deceased baby to exit the body amid profuse bleeding that may last weeks or even months. In some cases, the chemical abortion drug has led to the deaths of <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33939340\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mothers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The people behind the popular <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/26\/supreme-court-hears-challenge-to-fdas-reckless-approval-of-unsafe-mail-order-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">yet dangerous<\/a> abortion pill have since raked in tens of millions of dollars for selling a drug designed to kill unborn babies. The Biden administration and abortion activists\u2019 efforts to expand means for abortion through all nine months of pregnancy regardless of pro-life prohibitions on the practice have only made the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motherjones.com\/politics\/2023\/01\/abortion-pill-mifepristone-mifeprex-roe-dobbs-private-equity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tangled web of investors and shell accounts<\/a> that manage mifepristone\u2019s market presence more profitable.<\/p>\n<p>If one thing is certain after Thursday\u2019s ruling, it\u2019s that the fight over chemical abortion via mifepristone is far from over.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
