Authorities are handling the situation, and the investigation continues.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>At least three people are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/death\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>dead<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/law-enforcement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>one deputy<\/a> is recovering after a Tampa, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/florida\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Florida<\/a>, teenager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/murder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>murdered<\/a> his father Saturday and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/crime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>shot at<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/suspect-arrested-in-shooting-outside-border-area-texas-casino\/\" title=\"Suspect Arrested in Shooting Outside Border Area Texas Casino\">responding law enforcement<\/a>, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred around 11:09 p.m. when the Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to a reported shooting called in by 48-year-old Rebecca Themelis, who said her son, 19-year-old Christos Themelis Jr., had shot her husband, 51-year-old Christos Themelis, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamhcso.com\/News\/PressRelease\/3f8c3b24-dc7b-41ec-93e4-68ca129172ed\/24-120\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>according to<\/a> the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>During the call, several additional shots could be heard.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<p data-video_id=\"hbgo-doqS3k\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"McGough Bodycam\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hbgo-doqS3k?start=71&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival, deputies encountered the caller and suspect outside of the residence. The suspect, Christos Alexander Themelis, Jr., 19, then shot his mother, the caller, and turned fired towards deputies,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFive deputies returned fire, deploying their service weapons, causing Themelis, Jr., to retreat into his home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Multiple teams, including SWAT and a crisis negotiation group, were called to assist, and when authorities entered the home, they discovered the 19-year-old had died of wounds sustained during the shootout.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe monster we encountered this evening is responsible for not only injuring our deputy but also killing his own mother and father,\u201d Sheriff Chad Chronister said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur deputies responded to a chaotic scene and immediately put themselves in harm\u2019s way to protect our community.
