Emmanuel<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 17, 2024 at 7:33am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>On Friday, the U.S. Department of Labor released its monthly employment report for May, and the headline numbers seemed impressive \u2014 272,000 jobs added.<\/p>\n<p>But while <a href=\"http:\/\/the%20u.s.%20department%20of%20labor%20released%20its%20monthly%20employment%20situation%20report%20for%20may%202024,%20and%20the%20headline%20numbers%20seem%20impressive%20-%20272,000%20jobs%20added,%20far%20exceeding%20expectations.%20however,%20a%20deeper%20dive%20into%20the%20details%20reveals%20some%20very%20concerning%20cracks%20in%20the%20labor%20market's%20foundation.\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> celebrated a \u201cblockbuster report\u201d that \u201cfar outpaced economists\u2019 expectations for 180,000 jobs and an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/new-jobs-numbers-come-lower-expected-unemployment-rate-rises\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unemployment<\/a> rate of 3.9%,\u201d a deeper dive into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/pdf\/empsit.pdf?utm_medium=email&#038;utm_source=ncl_amplify&#038;utm_campaign=240607-bidenomics_full_time_jobs_disappear_as_americans_are_forced_into_part_time_work&#038;utm_content=ncl-Yux3kfkBdM&#038;_nlid=Yux3kfkBdM&#038;_nhids=a5JsjD5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">data<\/a> reveals a much darker picture.<\/p>\n<p>First, nearly one-sixth of the hiring came from the government sector, with 43,000 jobs added last month, which is consistent with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/job-openings-ease-but-remain-high-amid-feds-efforts-to-dent-labor-market\/\" title=\"Job Openings Ease, but Remain High Amid Fed\u2019s Efforts to Dent Labor Market\">average monthly job gains<\/a> of 52,000 in the government sector over the previous 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>A disproportionate reliance on government hiring does not indicate an organically strengthening private-sector economy. Public payrolls are funded by taxpayer dollars rather than productive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wh-opportunity-zones-raised-billions-private-investment-2-years-raise-1-million-poverty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">private investment<\/a> and value creation.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Now do your report without the fake government jobs you created.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 jason\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf2\ud83e\udd85 (@jasonbull77) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jasonbull77\/status\/1802005380068720748?\">June 15, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is the perfect picture of the difference in how the left and right perceive \u201csuccessful\u201d job growth.<\/p>\n<p>Conservatives view overreliance on public sector hiring as economically artificial \u2014 a temporary balm if not backed by a vigorous private sector.<\/p>\n<p>While employers kept hiring, the participation rate fell 0.2 percentage points to 62.5 percent. This is a major <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/taylor-swift-throws-another-red-flag-christians-files-female-rage-trademark\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">red flag<\/a> that Americans are losing confidence in their job prospects and are not looking actively for work.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Have you and your family been affected badly by Bidenomics?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The data show that the number of outright \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/desantis-tells-discouraged-police-officers-come-florida-actually-stand-law-enforcement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">discouraged<\/a> workers\u201d who have given up searching for jobs skyrocketed by 25 percent in just two months to 462,000.<\/p>\n<p>This level of labor force demoralization reveals that portions of society are being left behind in this purported recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Even more disturbing, the survey of households showed employment declined by 408,000 in May, directly contradicting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-bloat-white-house-payroll-balloons-500-fueled-huge-increase-jills-staff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">payroll<\/a> numbers. The unemployment rate went up to 4 percent, the third consecutive monthly increase, proving a strange mismatch between the employment numbers and the unemployment numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Most concerning from an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/secure-property-rights-vital-americas-national-economic-security\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">economic security<\/a> standpoint was the shift in the types of jobs being created. Between April and May, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/los-angeles-democratic-mayor-to-propose-guaranteed-basic-income-pilot-in-most-progressive-budget-hes-overseen\/\" title=\"Los Angeles Democratic Mayor To Propose Guaranteed Basic Income Pilot In \u2018Most Progressive Budget\u2019 He\u2019s Overseen\">full-time employment<\/a> went down by 625,000, while part-time jobs increased by 286,000.<\/p>\n<p>The increase in contingent, less-secure jobs with likely fewer benefits and lower pay raises serious doubts about the quality and sustainability of the supposed labor market revival.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of a growing jobs market leading to broad-based opportunity, the data show an economy with a disproportionate number of government workers who can still obtain full-time work and outsiders facing discouragement and lengthy jobless spells or settling for part-time roles.<\/p>\n<p>So, while the Biden administration and its establishment media cronies will continue to tout these numbers, this is not the picture of a healthy economy with organic job growth and a thriving business sector.<\/p>\n<p>Underneath the headlines, the job growth masks employment imbalances and disillusionment spreading for a significant swath of workers.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than true private-sector growth, the undercurrents reveal a deeply worrying lopsided economy with a growingly disenfranchised workforce, many of whom are struggling to manage their households with multiple part-time gigs.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
