Luna&#8217;s concerns center on the authenticity of the transcript, which she suspects may have been altered. In \u2063an interview on the show &#8220;Sunday \u200bMorning Futures,&#8221; Luna elaborated on her efforts to obtain these \u2064recordings from\u2064 the Department of Justice. \u200bDuring Hur\u2019s interview with Biden, which focused on Biden&#8217;s handling of\u2064 classified \u2064documents, Hur described Biden as an elderly \u2063man \u200dwith memory issues but concluded that he \u2064did not possess the mental intent necessary for willful misconduct, making it unlikely\u200d that\u2062 a jury\u2062 would\u200d convict\u200c him. Despite the release of \u200cthe transcript, Luna argues that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-amber-heard-fires-her-pr-team-johnny-depps-bodyguard-claims-heard-punched-the-actor-in-the-face\/\" title=\"After Amber Heard Fires Her PR Team, Johnny Depp\u2019s Bodyguard Claims Heard Punched the Actor in the Face\">audio tapes<\/a> \u200care essential to fully assess Biden&#8217;s \u200ccompetence, aiming to better inform the\u2064 public about the President&#8217;s \u200bability to serve.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/anna-paulina-luna\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Anna Paulina Luna<\/a> (R-FL) wants the release of the audio recordings of former special counsel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3025398\/doj-deepfakes-withhold-hur-audio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Robert Hur's interview\">Robert Hur\u2019s interview<\/a> with President <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Robert Hur's interview\">Joe Biden<\/a> amid suspicion that the transcript was \u201cdoctored.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luna appeared on <em><a href=\"http:\/\/foxnews.com\/shows\/sunday-morning-futures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Sunday Morning Futures<\/a><\/em>  to provide an update on the fight to retrieve these tapes from the Department of Justice. Biden\u2019s competence was called into question by Hur, who referred to the president as \u201can elderly man with a poor memory.\u201d Hur\u2019s office interviewed Biden last year but found he did not have a \u201cmental state of willfulness\u201d and, therefore, was not worth charging over his handling of classified documents because \u201cit would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him.\u201d While their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sf-school-board-president-accuses-mayor-of-division-for-criticizing-renaming-re-opening-plans\/\" title=\"SF School Board President Accuses Mayor Of \u2018Division\u2019 For Criticizing Renaming, Re-Opening Plans\">interview transcript<\/a> was released, Luna wants the tapes to be released to the public to paint a full picture of Biden\u2019s competence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that it\u2019s possible that [the transcript\u2019s] been doctored, but I also think,\u00a0Maria, that it\u2019s really going to show the American\u00a0people whether or not Biden is\u00a0actually capable of making those\u00a0decisions,\u201d Luna said. \u201cRemember, we have a foreign-policy debacle\u00a0right now. We have Russian warships off of our\u00a0coast, and if he is not able to\u00a0stand fit as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>president<\/a>, I don\u2019t\u00a0think that he\u2019s going to be the nominee this\u00a0November. I think that\u2019s why Democrats\u00a0are trying to protect him and\u00a0the DOJ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo you don\u2019t think he\u2019s going to be\u00a0the nominee?\u201d host Maria Bartiromo asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot if these tapes come out, no, Maria,\u201d Luna said. \u201cI think that they have big problems, and I\u00a0think his cognitive inability is\u00a0the number one issue for them\u00a0currently.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Democratic-National-Convention\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Democratic National Convention<\/a> is slated to begin on Aug. 19, when the party\u2019s nominee will become official. In March, Biden had received enough primary votes to reach the majority threshold.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CNN, the Heritage Foundation, and Judicial Watch, among others, have all been denied Freedom of Information Act requests for the audio and have subsequently filed suit against the Justice Department. The\u00a0Department of Justice\u00a0claims it is withholding the audio due to fears that it will be altered by\u00a0artificial intelligence, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3025398\/doj-deepfakes-withhold-hur-audio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"court filing\">court filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hur left his position as special counsel with the department in March. Just before he resigned, he addressed the House Judiciary Committee about his interview. This committee and the House Oversight Committee have since issued subpoenas for the audio, which have also gone unanswered.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
