He \u2064noted this change in light \u200cof a recent fundraising event for President\u2063 Joe\u2064 Biden in Los \u200cAngeles, which featured celebrities such as George Clooney\u200b and Julia\u200d Roberts, as \u200dwell as former President Barack Obama. Cruz contrasted how these two moves by Trump and Biden represent the shift to whom the Democratic Party caters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re actually talking about a steelworker, if you\u2019re talking about taxicab drivers, if you\u2019re talking about a waiter or a waitress, the Democrat Party long ago abandoned those workers,\u201d Cruz said on Fox News\u2019s <em>Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo<\/em>. \u201cAnd in fact, look, a steelworker, they\u2019re hammering steel mills with environmental regulations, making it harder and harder to stay in business; truck drivers, they\u2019re hammering them with regulations, making it harder and harder to survive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cruz also cited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/finance-and-economy\/2947025\/california-workers-hour-cuts-minimum-wage-going-into-effect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/californias-fast-food-wage-mandate-hits-working-class-wallets-but-not-gavin-newsoms\/\" title=\"California's Fast-Food Minimum Wage Impact on Low-Income Workers, Excludes Gavin Newsom\">recent minimum wage hike<\/a><\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>California<\/a>, which has seen multiple restaurant chains close down locations in the state. He argued that the leadership of \u201cKing Gavin,\u201d referring to Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), has only led to workers losing their jobs.
