This\u200d lawsuit \u200daccused them \u2063of unlawfully\u200c hacking Biden\u2019s computer data.\u2063 The decision to dismiss the lawsuit, which involved all\u2063 parties including Biden&#8217;s attorney Abbe Lowell, was confirmed via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doj-investigating-spacexs-hiring-practices-after-non-u-s-citizen-alleges-discrimination\/\" title=\"DOJ Investigating SpaceX\u2019s Hiring Practices After Non-U.S. Citizen Alleges Discrimination\">court filing<\/a> with no clear \u2062reason provided. However,\u2064 a \u2062source indicated to \u200dNBC News that\u2062 continuing the lawsuit\u2062 didn&#8217;t make sense while Giuliani was\u2063 undergoing bankruptcy. This bankruptcy\u200d was filed \u2063following a court order for Giuliani\u200d to pay $148 million as penalty for defaming two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/just-in-floyd-county-georgia-terminates-election-director-after-statewide-audit-discovers-uncounted-votes\/\" title=\"JUST IN: Floyd County, Georgia Terminates Election Director After Statewide Audit Discovers Uncounted Votes\">election workers<\/a> by falsely accusing them \u200cof\u200c election fraud in Georgia. It was also mentioned\u200d that\u200c the lawsuit might be pursued again once\u200d Giuliani is out of bankruptcy.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hunter-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Hunter Biden\">Hunter Biden<\/a> agreed on Thursday to dismiss a lawsuit he brought against former <a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-york-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"New York City\">New York City<\/a> Mayor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/rudy-giuliani\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Rudy Giuliani\">Rudy Giuliani<\/a> and his onetime attorney Robert Costello over allegations they unlawfully hacked the first son\u2019s computer data.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s attorney Abbe Lowell signed off on the suit\u2019s dismissal, as did Giuliani and Costello, according to a court filing.<\/p>\n<p>No explanation for the move was provided in the court papers, but a source told NBC News \u201cit made no sense\u201d to continue the suit while Giuliani was in a state of bankruptcy. The source also said the case would be brought again when Giuliani was out of it.<\/p>\n<p>The former mayor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2644772\/rudy-giuliani-files-for-bankruptcy-less-than-a-week-after-148-million-defamation-ruling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">declared<\/a> bankruptcy last year after a court ordered him to pay two election workers $148 million. The penalty came as a result of a federal judge finding Giuliani defamed the two women when he accused them of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-gop-speaks-out-against-h-r-1-bill\/\" title=\"House GOP speaks out against H.R.1 bill\">committing election fraud<\/a> in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s lawsuit against Giuliani came in response to the former mayor, who worked as former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s attorney, obtaining an external hard drive containing data from Biden\u2019s laptop and providing it to the <em>New York Post<\/em> in the lead-up to the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>The outlet proceeded to publish a string of stories targeting President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Joe Biden\">Joe Biden<\/a>, then Trump\u2019s leading opponent, based on the data from the hard drive.<\/p>\n<p>The first son filed the suit in September 2023, accusing Giuliani and Costello of \u201chacking\u201d and \u201cmanipulating\u201d his data, as well as sharing copies of the data with the <em>New York Post<\/em> and others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the past many months and even years, Defendants have dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and energy toward looking for, hacking into, tampering with, manipulating, copying, disseminating, and generally obsessing over data that they were given that was taken or stolen from Plaintiff\u2019s devices or storage platforms, including what Defendants claim to have obtained from Plaintiff\u2019s alleged \u2018laptop\u2019 computer,\u201d Hunter Biden\u2019s attorneys wrote in the initial complaint.<\/p>\n<p>The younger Biden is also in the midst of a similar legal battle with Garrett Ziegler and his company Marco Polo, a top disseminator of the data.<\/p>\n<p>In the suit, Hunter Biden\u2019s attorneys called Ziegler \u201ca zealot who has waged a sustained, unhinged and obsessed campaign against\u201d the Biden family.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ziegler\u2019s attorney has moved to dismiss the case, arguing the lawsuit is \u201chalf-baked\u201d and that the spreading of the data was \u201cprotected activity\u201d because it involved a matter of \u201csignificant public interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lowell did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hunter Biden agreed to drop his lawsuit against former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani and attorney Robert Costello, alleging they illegally hacked his computer data.
