Following her death, her two daughters were abducted.\u2062 The incident sparked an Amber \u200cAlert and later \u2062led to the arrest of a man in Jackson, Mississippi, who had previously dated Brunett. He was found with Brunett&#8217;s car and her 6-year-old daughter, who was unharmed. Unfortunately, the body of the younger \u200ddaughter, aged 4, was\u200b found in \u2063a wooded area near the car. The cause of Brunett&#8217;s death\u200c has not been disclosed, and the crime has \u200bbeen described as unspeakable by local authorities.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/ap-reports\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/ap-reports\/%20\"><span>The Associated Press<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 14, 2024 at 3:09am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>A Louisiana woman was found dead in her home Thursday, and her two young daughters were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-wrestling-legend-ric-flair-opens-abducted-child-traffickers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abducted<\/a> and found hours later in Mississippi \u2014 one dead and the other alive, police said.<\/p>\n<p>A Louisiana resident who had dated the woman was arrested in Jackson, Mississippi, in connection with the deaths and abduction, investigators said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had the victim\u2019s car along with her alive-and-well 6-year-old child,\u201d said Chief Deputy Jimmy Travis of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Office in Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p>The body of the other child, a 4-year-old, was found near the car in a wooded area in Jackson, Travis said.<\/p>\n<p>Louisiana State Police issued an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/amber-alert-issued-former-police-officer-allegedly-kills-ex-wife-teen-girlfriend-kidnaps-son\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amber Alert<\/a> for the children after their mother, Callie Brunett, was found dead in her home in Loranger, about 60 miles (97 kilometers) east of Baton Rouge.<\/p>\n<p>She had been reported missing after no one had spoken with her since Tuesday, Travis said. A cause of death was not immediately released.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was just an unspeakable crime,\u201d Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards said.<\/p>\n<p>The sheriff added: \u201cOur hearts and prayers go out to the victims\u2019 family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a horrendous tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Is violent crime on the rise in America?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said officers contacted the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/meet-the-veteran-led-group-going-to-war-with-human-trafficking-in-americas-backyard\/\" title=\"Meet The Veteran-Led Group Going To War With Human Trafficking In America\u2019s Backyard\">human trafficking division<\/a> about the case.<\/p>\n<p>He said small animal cages were discovered at the wooded area where the children were found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe tried to do away with the children by taking them into this wooded area,\u201d Wade said of the suspect, adding, \u201cThis was a horrible, horribly tragic situation that was committed by the actions of a coward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Western Journal has not reviewed this Associated Press story prior to publication.
