Boeing\u2019s troubles began earlier this year when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2791079\/boeing-trouble-alaska-airlines-flight-scare-suspension-737-planes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>door plugs blew out<\/a> of an Alaska Airlines flight mid-air.<\/p>\n<p>As of Friday, the company is facing three additional problems. <\/p>\n<h3>Fasteners not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/suburban-chicago-tent-collapse-injures-at-least-26-including-5-seriously-police-say\/\" title=\"At least 26 injured, including 5 seriously, in suburban Chicago tent collapse, police report.\">properly installed<\/a> in 787 Dreamliners<\/h3>\n<p>Boeing announced Thursday that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/transportation\/2024\/06\/13\/faa-safety-oversight-boeing-whitaker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>additional inspections<\/a> will take place on some of the 787 wide-body jets after the company disclosed some of the fasteners on the fuselages of the planes may have been improperly installed. <\/p>\n<p>The disclosure from Boeing comes as Michael Whitaker, head of the Federal Aviation Administration, was set to visit the company\u2019s South Carolina manufacturing facility where 787s are built.<\/p>\n<p>Whitaker said the panel that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/graphics\/ALASKAAIR-BOEING\/klvydkrlopg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>blew off <\/a>an Alaska Airlines flight earlier this year showed him that Boeing had been \u201ctoo hands-off\u201d and that a more aggressive oversight approach was needed.<\/p>\n<p>The company said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-womens-swimming-champion-calls-for-end-to-trans-swimmers-in-womens-sports\/\" title=\"WATCH: Women's Swimming Champion Calls for End to Trans Swimmers in Women's Sports\">issue affects<\/a> only jets that have not yet been put in service and that those already in use are not affected by the issue.<\/p>\n<h3>Counterfeit titanium potentially found in Airbus, Boeing<\/h3>\n<p>The Federal Aviation Administration is launching an investigation into reports that both Boeing and Airbus may have used titanium sold using fake documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoeing reported a voluntary disclosure to the FAA regarding procurement of material through a distributor who may have falsified or provided incorrect records,\u201d the FAA said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/business-news\/boeing-airbus-may-used-counterfeit-titanium-planes-faa-investigating-rcna157160\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to NBC News, Boeing said, \u201cThis industry-wide issue affects some shipments of titanium received by a limited set of suppliers, and tests performed to date have indicated that the correct titanium alloy was used,\u201d adding that the company was \u201cremoving any affected parts on airplanes prior to delivery.
