The expansion includes\u200d the addition of a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/parents-beware-major-theme-parks-to-hold-family-friendly-drag-shows-and-its-not-disney\/\" title=\"Warning to Parents: Non-Disney Theme Parks to Host Drag Shows for Families.\">major theme park<\/a>, two minor parks, and\u200b a water park, along with a 14,000 room increase in \u2063hotel accommodations. Florida will \u200dbenefit from the deal by acquiring 100 of Disney&#8217;s 24,000 acres for\u200b infrastructure projects, with a significant focus on contracts\u2064 with local Florida companies. This deal, approved by \u200bthe Central Florida\u200b Tourism Oversight District, concludes two years of disputes between DeSantis and Disney.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The deal between <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/disney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Disney<\/a> and Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ron-desantis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Ron DeSantis<\/a> (R-FL) was reached, with both sides celebrating their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/3028657\/disney-and-desantis-get-fairy-tale-ending-with-17-billion-plan-for-new-parks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"successful negotiation\">successful negotiation<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Walt Disney World Resort will now be allowed to add a fifth major theme park with two more minor parks and a water park. Additionally, the company will increase its existing 40,000 hotel rooms by 14,000.<\/p>\n<p>Then, Florida will receive 100 of Disney\u2019s 24,000 acres toward the construction of infrastructure projects, with half of these contracted with Florida-based companies. Florida also gets at least $10 million of its $17 billion investment back for affordable housing in Central Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District approved the deal after two years of fighting between DeSantis and Disney. After the governor signed\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/videos\/the-debrief-david-drucker-on-the-feud-between-florida-gov-ron-desantis-and-disney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Parental Rights in Education Act<\/a>,\u00a0which banned teachers of children in the third grade and under from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-predator-prowling-the-streets-the-trial-of-ghislaine-maxwell\/\" title=\"\u2018A Predator Prowling The Streets\u2019: The Trial Of Ghislaine Maxwell\">discussing sexual topics<\/a> in any form, Disney went public in its opposition to the law. The immersive experience was described on its website as \u201cpart live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game,\u201d priced at $1,200 per person per night for two nights.
