The news outlet disclosed Ali\u2019s previous posts that supported terrorism and expressed extreme anti-Semitic views, leading \u200cto significant criticism.\u200d Despite this exposure,\u200c Ali remained on the DHS payroll, posted about her situation online, and implied\u200c support from Secretary \u2062Alejandro Mayorkas.<\/p>\n<p>DHS \u200csuspended Ali but did\u2063 not dismiss her, \u2064and she publicly mocked her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/united-airlines-set-to-fire-almost-600-employees-over-vaccine-mandate\/\" title=\"United Airlines Set To Fire Almost 600 Employees Over Vaccine Mandate\">paid leave status<\/a>. The Center to Advance Security \u2064in America (CASA) filed a lawsuit against \u200bDHS for not complying with a Freedom \u2064of Information Act request for documents related\u2062 to Ali\u2019s hiring and duties. \u200dThe request sought to investigate whether Ali\u200b allowed \u200bdangerous \u2064individuals to enter the U.S. or unjustly denied entry to\u200c others, particularly\u200d Israelis, and to evaluate the department&#8217;s \u2064hiring \u200bvetting processes.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit, lodged \u2063in\u2064 a DC federal court, criticized DHS for not responding to the \u200bCASA\u2019s information request even after more than 200 days and demanded that the court force\u2062 DHS to \u200crelease the requested documents or provide \u200ca detailed explanation for not releasing\u200c them. This ongoing controversy raises serious questions about internal security practices \u2064and personnel vetting at DHS.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The Department of Homeland Security is facing a lawsuit after Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas refused to explain why a former spokesperson for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) was still employed by the department months after The Daily Wire exposed her support for terrorism and extreme anti-Semitism.<\/p>\n<p>Nejwa Ali was hired by the U.S. government to \u201cperform credible fear interviews by reviewing evidence, credibility, and determine admissibility\u201d of asylum-seekers. While working for DHS, her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">social media<\/a> consisted largely of a jihad against Jews, posting memes celebrating Hamas terrorists paragliding into a dance festival with guns, writing \u201cF*** Israel, the government, and its military. Are you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-u-s-govt-hired-a-pro-hamas-plo-spokeswoman-to-handle-asylum-claims\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ready for your downfall<\/a>?\u201d and sharing videos with captions like \u201cF*** Israel and any Jew that supports Israel,\u201d The Daily Wire revealed October 18.<\/p>\n<p>DHS said it put her on leave after that story, but six months later, she was still being paid, gloating online about her unpaid leave and seeming to suggest that Mayorkas was protecting her. On social media, when somebody commented on her page, \u201cWhen you do everything you can to get fired but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/mayorkas-confirms-hes-still-paying-hamas-supporting-dhs-agent-whos-been-gloating-about-her-paid-vacation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the boss says NO<\/a>,\u201d she responded, \u201chilarious, seriously.<\/p>\n<p>The department violated the Freedom of Information Act by refusing to provide documents about Ali in response to a November request, according to a new <a href=\"https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2024\/06\/Nejwa-Ali_CASA-v-DHS-24-cv-01607.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawsuit filed by the Center to Advance Security in America<\/a> (CASA) against DHS.<\/p>\n<p>The FOIA sought \u201crecords related to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Adjudication Officer Nejwa Ali and a potential conflict of interest in administering her duties,\u201d exploring whether she ushered in dangerous Palestinians or denied entry to Israelis.<\/p>\n<p>The request also sought to determine what kind of vetting DHS did when hiring her. DHS says that asylum seekers are thoroughly vetted, but it seemingly either did not even vet the person hired to do the vetting, or it knew she worked for a terrorist group and hired her anyway.\u00a0Ali was working for the PLO until the United States designated it a terrorism group, and it was banished from Washington.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit, filed in DC federal court on May 31, said that DHS acknowledged receipt of the FOIA, but had not responded to it in any way more than 200 days later. It also requests internal emails about DHS\u2019 effort to control the narrative about Ali.<\/p>\n<p>It asks a judge to \u201cOrder Defendant to produce, within ten days of the Court\u2019s order, or by other such date as the Court deems appropriate, any and all non<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/energy-department-blames-focus-on-climate-crisis-for-ethics-oversight\/\" title=\"Energy Department Blames Focus on \u2018Climate Crisis\u2019 for Ethics Oversight\">-exempt records responsive<\/a> to CASA\u2019s FOIA request and an index justifying the withholding of all or part of any responsive records withheld under claim of exemption\u201d and \u201cAward CASA the costs of this proceeding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>James Fitzpatrick, CASA\u2019s director, told The Daily Wire that \u201cCASA submitted this FOIA request immediately upon learning of Nejwa Ali\u2019s work for the Palestinian delegation to the U.S., UNWRA,\u00a0 and the virulent, disgusting, anti-Semitic content on her social media pages.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cWe are particularly concerned with transparency on communications regarding Ali\u2019s security screening. It is troubling that someone with Ali\u2019s resume could be given authority to facilitate asylum seekers to the United States. The American people need to know what DHS knew about Ali\u2019s prior work and statements and when they knew it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>While federal agencies often put employees on paid leave to conduct a disciplinary investigation, Ali has made the case open-and-shut, responding to a question about her support for Hamas para-gliders after The Daily Wire\u2019s story by saying in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lukerosiak\/status\/1714769461834633687\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recorded audio<\/a>: \u201cI abso-f\u2013inglutely celebrate them, a\u2013hole, f\u2014 you!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas refused to explain the holdup to Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri), instead calling his questions about it \u201cdespicable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ali has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/immigration-agent-who-celebrates-hamas-is-using-paid-leave-from-dhs-to-threaten-military-officials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">used her paid leave<\/a>, courtesy of taxpayers, to join radical protests at the Israeli embassy during work hours and doxx members of the military.<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas has tested the limits of the Freedom of Information Act, which prior administrations like Barack Obama\u2019s touted as a centerpiece of transparent government, even refusing to tell the public how many people on the terrorist watchlist had crossed the border, citing the \u201cprivacy interests\u201d of the suspected terrorists.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Homeland Security is being sued following Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas&#8217;s refusal to disclose why Nejwa Ali, a former Palestinian Liberation Organization spokesperson, remains employed despite her past support for terrorism and extreme anti-Semitism being exposed by The Daily Wire.
