Tenney criticizes Bragg for selectively prosecuting \u2062Trump \u2063while \u2064neglecting similar cases, labeling such actions\u200c as unethical and unconstitutional.\u200b The letter was publicly shared on her congressional website.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/u-s-house-of-representatives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House<\/a> Republican from upstate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a> is calling on her state\u2019s Democratic governor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/kathy-hochul\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kathy Hochul<\/a>, to pardon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> after the former president was recently found guilty on all counts in a hush money trial.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), a New York Bar Association member, made the request in a letter on Thursday that also urged Hochul to remove Alvin Bragg as Manhattan district attorney, saying he failed to uphold the \u201chigh ethical standards\u201d of his role.<\/p>\n<p>Bragg \u201cused a warped version of events to push the manufactured charges\u201d against Trump, a decision that was, \u201cAt best \u2026 legally questionable, at worst it\u2019s criminal,\u201d Tenney wrote in the letter, which has been <a href=\"https:\/\/tenney.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/tenney.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/trump%20pardon%20letter%20.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a> to her congressional website.<\/p>\n<p>She said Bragg \u201cneglected to prosecute other individuals\u201d in similar cases \u201cas his only purpose in bringing this case is to target the former President,\u201d adding, \u201cTargeting an individual, especially for political purposes, is unethical and unconstitutional.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A jury returned a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/verdict-trump-found-guilty-on-all-charges-in-hush-money-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guilty verdict<\/a> against Trump on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to allegedly cover up a tryst with adult film star Stormy Daniel as part of a \u201ccatch-and-kill\u201d scheme to influence the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, who denied the affair and pleaded not guilty to the charges, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/white-house-race-plunges-into-uncharted-territory-trump-awaits-july-sentencing-2024-05-31\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vowed<\/a> to appeal. The New York governor released a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonCampbellNY\/status\/1796318381160702383\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> saying the verdict \u201creaffirms that no one is above the law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Still, there is some pressure from the Democratic Party. Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN), who briefly challenged President Joe Biden for their party\u2019s presidential nomination, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/deanbphillips\/status\/1796695686215348594\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a> to X that Hochul \u201cshould pardon him [Trump] for the good of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Three other criminal matters hang over Trump, including two led by special counsel Jack Smith and another by Georgia\u2019s Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
