The Biden administration recently expanded access to the drug to make it easier for women to obtain it following the 2022 <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health<\/em> ruling and subsequent state abortion bans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s decision does not change the fact that the fight for reproductive freedom continues. It does not change the fact that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Supreme Court<\/a> overturned <em>Roe v. Wade <\/em>two years ago, and women lost a fundamental freedom. It does not change the fact that the right for a woman to get the treatment she needs is imperiled if not impossible in many states,\u201d Biden wrote in response to Thursday\u2019s ruling. <\/p>\n<p>The president proceeded to reframe Thursday\u2019s ruling into a pitch for his own reelection bid in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2024<\/a>, claiming that \u201cattacks on medication abortion are part of Republican elected officials\u2019 extreme and dangerous agenda to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-steve-daines-supreme-court-has-opportunity-to-defend-most-fundamental-right-the-right-to-life\/\" title=\"Sen. Wade<\/em>, Republican elected officials have imposed extreme abortion bans in 21 states, some of which include zero exceptions for rape or incest. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Women<\/a> are being turned away from emergency rooms, or forced to go to court to plead for care that their doctor recommended or to travel hundreds of miles for care.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>He continued, saying, \u201cDoctors and nurses are being threatened with jail time, including life in prison, for providing the health care they have been trained to provide.
