The two then huddled in a corner for about a minute.<\/p>\n<p>After Wade returned to his chair, Collins asked, \u201cEverything OK?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cYeah,\u201d and then proceeded to dodge the question about his affair.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">My exchange with Nathan Wade tonight on the timeline of his romantic relationship with District Attorney Fani Willis \u2014 including an interruption from a member of his team as he was answering when it began and when it ended. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/S5AJzdsmOC\">pic.twitter.com\/S5AJzdsmOC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kaitlan Collins (@kaitlancollins) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kaitlancollins\/status\/1801074064435376236?\">June 13, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The irony is that the main reason the media want to interview Wade is to grill him about his sordid romance with Willis, which has spotlighted the corruption in the so-called election interference case against Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAttorney Ashleigh Merchant, who represents Trump co-defendant Michael Roman in the sprawling racketeering and influence case, has argued that the \u2018improper\u2019 and \u2018clandestine\u2019 relationship started as early as 2019,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/06\/13\/us-news\/nathan-wades-media-consultant-interrupts-interview-as-hes-pressed-on-fani-willis-relationship-timeline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWade was hired by Willis to lead the investigation on Nov. 1, 2021, one day before he filed for divorce. He has testified that the tryst started \u2018around March\u2019 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNeither has provided a precise date of when the fling began. Giuliani (@RudyGiuliani) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RudyGiuliani\/status\/1801057070017372595?\">June 13, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/01\/12\/politics\/nathan-wade-fani-willis-da-georgia-election-subversion-case\/index.html#:~:text=Michael%20Moore%2C%20a%20former%20US,prosecutor%2C%E2%80%9D%20Moore%20told%20CNN.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> reported that \u201cone line item stood out to multiple lawyers who reviewed Wade\u2019s billing document included in the motion filed by Roman: On November 5, 2021, Wade billed the Fulton County DA for 24 hours in a day at $250 per hour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That would mean that Wade worked 24 hours straight that Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>In total, Wade was paid almost $1 million after being hired as a special prosecutor by Willis, according to court papers.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\ud83d\udea8 BREAKING: Jim Jordan launches inquiry into Fani Willis associate Nathan Wade.<\/p>\n<p>On November 5, 2021, Wade billed taxpayers for 24 hours of legal work, attesting that he worked all day and night without break on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-trump-jr-blast-ny-ag-letitia-james-for-political-persecution-this-is-banana-republic-stuff\/\" title=\"Trump, Trump Jr. Blast NY AG Letitia James For \u2018Political Persecution\u2019: \u2018This Is Banana Republic Stuff\u2019\">politically motivated prosecution<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ilVuJaaBg7\">pic.twitter.com\/ilVuJaaBg7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 JB Slear (@JB_Slear) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JB_Slear\/status\/1745894498536943685?\">January 12, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Defense attorney Manny Arora also took issue with his \u201cutter lack of experience\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/virginia-replaces-democrats-mandatory-transgender-policy-with-parents-rights-manifesto\/\" title=\"Virginia Replaces Democrats\u2019 Mandatory Transgender Policy With Parents\u2019 Rights Manifesto\">relevant case law<\/a> before he was hired as a \u201cspecial prosecutor\u201d by his then-girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bigger concern [than the affair and financial payments] is hiring an attorney to handle the biggest RICO case \u2014 possibly in the history of U.S. jurisprudence \u2014 when that counsel has never handled a RICO case before,\u201d Arora told CNN.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Is Trump being persecuted?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This is why the timeline of Wade\u2019s romance with Willis is relevant.<\/p>\n<p>Wade\u2019s affair and the ethical issues raised by the hefty payments he received were so scandalous that he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-sounds-off-special-prosecutor-resigns-case-big-stuff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resigned<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n<p>On March 15, Judge Scott McAfee \u2014 who\u2019s overseeing the case in the Superior Court of Fulton County \u2014 wrote in a 23-page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/713664490\/2024-03-15-Order-on-Motion-to-Disqualify-1#1fullscreen=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ruling<\/a> that the romance between the couple had created an appearance of a conflict of interest.<\/p>\n<p>In his decision, McAfee said the entire district attorney\u2019s office should resign if Wade remains on the team.
