The article concludes\u200d with an appeal from the staff of\u2064 The\u200b Western \u2062Journal, urging readers to support their platform as they commit to providing truthful coverage of the upcoming \u200b2024 election, contrasted \u200dwith what they describe as the dishonesty of\u200c the establishment media.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/commentary\/\">  Commentary <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/jsaunders\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/jsaunders\/%20\"><span>Joe Saunders<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 12, 2024 at 2:18pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>When it comes to smearing Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, the liberals have already lost.<\/p>\n<p>With major court decisions due to drop any day now \u2014 from former President Donald Trump\u2019s immunity claims to abortion and gun rights cases to other huge issues \u2014 liberal attacks are piling on with the publication of undercover recordings of Alito speaking in what were supposed to be private conversations.<\/p>\n<p>But as \u201csting\u201d videos making the news this week show, the leftists are only proving how right Alito is.<\/p>\n<p>As National Review senior writer Dan McLaughlin\u00a0pointed out in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2024\/06\/supreme-court-silly-season-alito-ambush-edition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">column published Tuesday<\/a>, the recordings, made by a liberal documentary maker posing as a conservative to try to lure Alito into some click-bait stupidity, ended up doing the opposite: Alito comes across as a man of acumen and honesty \u2014 and humility.<\/p>\n<p>His questioner, on the other hand, is clearly a lying grifter.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201csting\u201d videos are below. The conversation is well worth hearing:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">EXCLUSIVE UNDERCOVER AUDIO:<br \/> Sam Alito x John Roberts x The Undercurrent<\/p>\n<p>1\/ Justice Alito admits lack of impartiality with the Left, says: \u201cOne side or the other is going to win.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/b5nmxToZ9z\">pic.twitter.com\/b5nmxToZ9z<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lauren Windsor (@lawindsor) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lawindsor\/status\/1800201783945683120?\">June 10, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The documentary maker in question \u2014 identified by a cheerleading <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-features\/samuel-alito-supreme-court-justice-recording-tape-battle-1235036470\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rolling Stone<\/a> piece as Lauren Windsor \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ny-times-continues-character-assassination-justice-alito\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">approached Alito<\/a> at a fundraising event for the Supreme Court Historical Society.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Are establishment media outlets eroding trust in the Supreme Court?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Her language was appallingly dishonest \u2014 she pretended sympathy for the public pressures Alito has been undergoing, especially concerning the groundbreaking Dobbs decision last year that overturned the legal and moral monstrosity of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-roe-v-wade-overturned-trump-nominated-justices-help-deliver-biggest-pro-life-win-american-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roe v. Wade<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was clearly designed to elicit some emotional response from the justice, one that could be twisted to prove the court is only one good abortion case from pushing the country into the \u201cHandmaid\u2019s Tale\u201d nightmare of the left\u2019s most fetishistic fantasies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a Catholic and as someone who, like, really cherishes my faith, I just don\u2019t, I don\u2019t know that we can negotiate with the left in the way that, like, needs to happen for the polarization to end,\u201d she said. \u201cI think that it\u2019s a matter of, like, winning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alito, like, agreed. But not, like, in a way that any, like, mature person could, like, disagree with.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think you\u2019re probably right.\u201d he said. \u201cOn one side or the other \u2014 one side or the other is going to win. I don\u2019t know. I mean, there can be a way of working \u2014 a way of living together peacefully, but it\u2019s difficult, you know, because there are differences on fundamental things that really can\u2019t be compromised. They really can\u2019t be compromised. So it\u2019s not like you are going to split the difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Is there any honest American who could disagree with that?<\/p>\n<p>One side or the other is going to win \u2014 because when two irreconcilable forces are in active conflict, one or the other will eventually win. Alito didn\u2019t predict which side it would be. He didn\u2019t even, strictly speaking, state a preference (though his authorship of the Dobbs decision \u2014 and its tone \u2014 make that pretty clear).<\/p>\n<p>He merely stated a fact.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also important to point out that there is a way of \u201cliving together peacefully\u201d \u2014 more or less in the state of the country as it is \u2014 but in the long term, something is going to give.<\/p>\n<p>And then, playing her role to the hilt, Windsor went as far as to invoke \u201cgodliness\u201d (the judgmentally minded might call it a kind of blasphemy, considering she was lying through her leftist teeth).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that the solution really is, like, winning the moral argument,\u201d she said. \u201cLike, people in this country who believe in God have got to keep fighting for that, to return our country to a place of godliness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI agree with you,\u201d Alito said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBingo!\u201d cried the editors at Rolling Stone, slapping a summary headline on the piece: \u201cSupreme Court justice says he \u2018agrees\u2019 that the U.S. should return to a place of godliness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If wishing a county to be in a state of \u201cgodliness\u201d isn\u2019t damning, what is?<\/p>\n<p>But Alito also knows it isn\u2019t the court\u2019s job to determine whether the United States is a place of godliness \u2014 that\u2019s up to Americans and the representatives they elect.<\/p>\n<p>In a video from 2023 Windsor intercut, she recorded Alito describing his view of the Supreme Court. Again, it was exactly what a normal American would want to hear:<\/p>\n<p>In that portion of the video, in where Windsor again cited the \u201cpolarization\u201d of the country and what can be done about it, Alito lamented the role of \u201cthe media\u201d in eroding the public trust in the court (like Eve lamenting the serpent, under the circumstances), but also made it clear the court has limits that are inherent in its creation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe [the justices] have a very defined role, and we need to do what we\u2019re supposed to do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut this is a bigger problem. This is way above us. So I wish I knew the answer. I do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The humility of the words \u201cway above us\u201d is not in any liberal politicians\u2019 makeup \u2014 whether they\u2019re on or off the court.<\/p>\n<p>What Alito was describing was the will of the American people and \u2014 probably \u2014 the will of God.<\/p>\n<p>The Democratic Party and the American left in general have spent decades proving they have scant respect for either. But it\u2019s exactly the kind of humility the country needs from the men and women on the highest court in the land.<\/p>\n<p>In another video, a Windsor colleague identified as Ally Sammarco \u2014 \u201cwho identifies as a former Republican turned Democratic strategist,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2024\/jun\/12\/second-liberal-activist-reveals-undercover-audio-j\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Times<\/a> \u2014 expresses crocodile tears of sympathy to Alito for the \u201cattacks\u201d he\u2019s facing in the media. They don\u2019t like our decisions,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd they don\u2019t like how they anticipate we\u2019ll decide some cases that are coming up. That\u2019s the beginning and the end of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Again, is there an honest American who can disagree? The fact that these recordings even exist proves his point.<\/p>\n<p>Alito is a target <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ny-times-continues-character-assassination-justice-alito\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">of the attacks<\/a>, especially the ongoing faux fight over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/justice-alito-appeal-heaven-flag-truth-left-doesnt-want-know\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flags outside his homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Clarence Thomas, a man whose public rectitude is irreproachable, is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/clarence-thomas-already-issued-perfect-response-media-members-want-quit-supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">another constant target<\/a> \u2014 as a black conservative with a towering intellect, even his existence is an insult to the fringe left.<\/p>\n<p>And now the leftist assault on the Supreme Court is reaching its peak for the session, as the justices ready the release of opinions on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-rachel-maddow-melts-news-breaks-supreme-court-taking-trumps-immunity-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump immunity<\/a>, charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/supreme-court-agrees-hear-jan-6-defendants-appeal-implications-trump-prosecution-enormous\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Capitol incursion<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/supreme-court-hear-case-devastating-abortion-activists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortion drug mifepristone<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/supreme-court-weighing-whether-2a-protects-right-accused-domestic-abusers-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Second Amendment<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/2024\/01\/supreme-court-likely-to-discard-chevron\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">curbing the power<\/a> of the administrative state.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s going to be a massive final sprint for the conservative-majority court, and liberals are already launching preemptive attacks, with Alito in the crosshairs.<\/p>\n<p>Every Supreme Court justice makes history with every day on the job, of course. But Alito is different. His authorship <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trent-franks-fall-roe-nothing-short-american-awakening\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">of the Dobbs decision<\/a> puts him in the rarefied company of Supreme Court justices whose landmark decision have etched a place in the chronicles of the country. (For good or ill: Chief Justice Earl Warren, author of the Brown v. Board of Education decision is in that group, along with Roger Taney of Dred Scott and Harry Blackmun or Roe v. Wade.)<\/p>\n<p>He knows what place he has; he knows the power that he has, but he also knows that that power is sharply limited by the very Constitution that created it.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a lesson every American politician should learn and live by. It\u2019s a lesson most sorely needed by big-government, Democratic politicians from President Joe Biden on down to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her squad.<\/p>\n<p>Liberals trying to smear Sam Alito might think they\u2019re hurting him and the court, but all they\u2019re really doing is showing how much he belongs there.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
