The\u2064 lawsuit alleges that these employees were\u200d dismissed for writing \u2063an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/economists-push-for-another-round-of-stimulus-checks\/\" title=\"Economists Push for Another Round of Stimulus Checks\">open letter<\/a>\u2063 that \u200bcriticized Musk for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-truth-about-hunter-bidens-laptop\/\" title=\"The Truth About Hunter Biden\u2019s Laptop\">inappropriate sexual<\/a> and\u200c gender-related comments. \u200dThe\u2062 open letter, which was also signed by at least 400 other employees, accused Musk\u2062 of violating\u2062 the company&#8217;s &#8220;No A**hole&#8221; policy through his remarks and \u200bencouraged company\u200d executives to publicly denounce his behavior. The plaintiffs claim Musk \u200bdirectly ordered their termination following \u2062the circulation of this letter. The lawsuit criticizes Musk&#8217;s behavior \u2062as misogynistic, comparing the workplace environment to that of the movie &#8220;Animal\u2062 House&#8221; and\u2064 accusing him of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/progressive-policies-need-to-be-fought-off-by-states-rep-steube\/\" title=\"Progressive Policies Need to Be Fought Off by States: Rep. Steube\">treating women<\/a> as sexual objects. In response,\u200d SpaceX\u200c COO \u2064Gwynne Shotwell justified the terminations by stating that the employees&#8217; \u2062actions had made other \u2062staff uncomfortable. The letter urged SpaceX executives to condemn Musk\u2019s statements and other inappropriate employee behavior that they felt was clearly in violation of the company\u2019s \u201cNo A**hole\u201d policy. At least 400 other employees signed the letter.<\/p>\n<p>Following the circulation of the letter, the eight employees responsible were terminated.<\/p>\n<p>In the lawsuit filed on Wednesday, the former employees allege that \u201cMusk personally ordered the Plaintiff\u2019s terminations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit filed in the state court of California states that Elon Musk is \u201cthe leader to a brave new world of space travel, but runs his company in the dark ages \u2014 treating women as sexual objects to be evaluated on their bra size, bombarding the workplace with lewd sexual banter, and offering the reprise to those who challenge the \u2018Animal House\u2019 environment that if they don\u2019t like it they can seek employment elsewhere.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>SpaceX Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell responded to the letter by telling the <em>New York Times<\/em> the reason behind the employees\u2019 terminations was because they had made other staff feel \u201cuncomfortable.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The National Labor Relations Board had previously filed complaints on behalf of the employees\u00a0against SpaceX, with the NLRB claiming the employees were fired for participating in \u201cconcerted protected activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to the complaints filed by the NLRB, SpaceX <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/01\/04\/business\/spacex-hit-with-nlrb-complaint-for-illegally-firing-employees-critical-of-elon-musk\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>filed a lawsuit<\/a> stating that the NLRB itself was \u201cunconstitutional.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday\u2019s lawsuit points to specific examples of Musk\u2019s behavior on X, which the plaintiffs said contributed to SpaceX\u2019s \u201cpervasively sexist culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In one instance, Musk posted to X his plan \u201cto create a Texas university similar to MIT which he would call \u2018TITS\u2019 and where \u2018Ds [women\u2019s bra size] would get degrees,\u2019 accompanied by an altered photo rendering a rocket to appear to be a giant penis,\u201d the complaint states.<\/p>\n<p>Musk also made a post following a <em>Business Insider<\/em> article that reported Musk had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/deplorable-and-predatory-behavior-the-lincoln-project-condemns-cofounder-after-nyt-reports-he-allegedly-sexually-harassed-14-year-old-boy\/\" title=\"\u2018Deplorable And Predatory Behavior\u2019: The Lincoln Project Condemns Cofounder After NYT Reports He Allegedly Sexually Harassed 14-Year-Old Boy\">allegedly sexually harassed<\/a> a flight attendant. In response, Musk said, \u201cFinally, we get to use Elongate as scandal name.
