Titled \u201cClimate \u200dControl: Exposing The Decarbonization Collusion in Environmental, \u200bSocial, and\u200c Governance (ESG)\u2064 Investing,\u201d the\u2062 report outlines how this group, including \u200cClimate Action 100+ and the nonprofit Ceres, \u200cpressures firms to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve\u2063 net \u2063zero greenhouse \u2062gas\u2062 emissions by 2050, aligning with the Paris Agreement. The investigation utilized over 2.6\u2064 million pages of documents, pointing\u2064 out that \u2062such \u2062initiatives could significantly \u2062increase the \u200ccosts in sectors \u2064like fossil fuels, \u2062aviation, and\u2063 farming, thereby impacting American consumers and the national economy. The report criticizes these actions as an assault on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/economic-freedom-index-shows-the-united-states-posting-worst-performance-ever\/\" title=\"\u2018Economic Freedom Index\u2019 Shows The United States Posting Worst Performance Ever\">free market principles<\/a> and\u2062 the American lifestyle.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/climate-change\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">climate cartel<\/a>\u201d of activists and financial organizations is working together to push American companies to impose radical environmental goals, according to a report published Tuesday by the House Judiciary Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The new <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2024-06-11%20Climate%20Control%20-%20Exposing%20the%20Decarbonization%20Collusion%20in%20Environmental%2C%20Social%2C%20and%20Governance%20(ESG)%20Investing.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, called \u201cClimate Control: Exposing The Decarbonization Collusion in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Investing,\u201d features the preliminary findings of the committee\u2019s investigation into the relationship between climate activists and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/carney-dont-fall-for-the-ludicrous-saule-omarova-cover-up-she-is-too-dangerous-to-confirm\/\" title=\"Carney: Don't Fall For The Ludicrous Saule Omarova Cover-Up, She Is Too Dangerous To Confirm\">large financial institutions<\/a>. The committee surveyed 272,294 documents and 2,565,258 pages of non<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pelosis-husband-makes-big-tech-stock-moves-again-places-6-million-bet-as-congress-looks-to-rein-in-silicon-valley\/\" title=\"Pelosi\u2019s Husband Makes Big Tech Stock Moves Again, Places  Million Bet As Congress Looks To Rein In Silicon Valley\">-public information<\/a>, according to the report.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe Committee\u2019s ongoing investigation into collusion between left-wing activists and major financial institutions has revealed that a climate cartel is working to decarbonize the U.S. economy \u2014 with disastrous implications for American consumers,\u201d the report said. \u201cThe climate cartel has declared war on our way of life, escalating its attacks on free markets and demanding that companies slash output of the critical products and services that allow Americans to drive, fly, and eat.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Much of the 41-page report examined the influence of Climate Action 100+, an investors group that pushes environmental, social, and governance initiatives and controls about $68 trillion in assets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For example, members of Climate Action 100+ are required to ask the companies they work with to \u201ctake necessary action on climate change\u201d by \u201chalving emissions by 2030 and delivering net zero GHG emissions by 2050, in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement to pursue efforts to limit warming to 1.5\u00b0C.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One document obtained by the committee said that Climate Action 100+ needed to \u201cshow that engagement can have teeth\u2014and that investors are willing to escalate pressure against companies that refuse to act.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The report said that this push for decarbonization would raises costs of fossil fuel, aviation, and farming.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another one of the leftist groups discussed in the report is Ceres, an environmental nonprofit that helped co-found Climate Action 100+.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ceres says that it is leading a \u201ccoordinated push to harness the extraordinary power of financial system leaders to accelerate the transition of the global economy to net-zero by steering massive flows of capital . . . away from investments that lock in greenhouse gas emissions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The committee said that Ceres has so far refused to respond to its requests for access to its Investor Portal, which it uses to organize \u201cengagements\u201d with shareholders and corporations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cDespite the centrality of the Ceres Investor Portal to the climate cartel\u2019s operations and possible antitrust violations, and its obvious responsiveness to the categories of information demanded by the Committee\u2019s subpoena, Ceres has refused to provide the Committee with meaningful access to these materials,\u201d the report said, adding that all legal operations remain on the table.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The report also highlighted the work of the California Public Employee\u2019s Retirement System through proxy voting and other means to push for policies in accordance with Climate Action 100+ and Ceres.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The release of the report comes as Republican lawmakers have been scrutinizing the connections between climate activists and financial asset manager giants like BlackRock and Vanguard. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Earlier this year, BlackRock, JPMorgan, and State Street all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/financial-giants-pull-14-trillion-from-climate-group-that-pressures-companies-to-take-action-on-climate-change\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> that they would be pulling back from their participation in Climate Action 100+, pulling about $14 trillion in investments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Neither Climate Action 100+ or Ceres immediately responded to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A report by the House Judiciary Committee, released Tuesday, claims a &#8220;climate cartel&#8221; of activists and financial groups is pressuring U.S. companies to adopt extreme environmental objectives.
