Trying a lot of things when you don\u2019t know what you have can kill you,\u201d Dion said. \u201cI did not know, honestly, that it could kill me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cNinety milligrams of Valium can kill you,\u201d she added. \u201cYou can stop breathing. And at one point, the thing is that my body got used to it at 20 and 30 and 40 [milligrams], until it went up. And I needed that. It was relaxing my whole body.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cBut for how long?\u201d Dion continued. \u201cFor two weeks, for a month? But then it doesn\u2019t work anymore. Dion ended up canceling several concerts and finally decided to share with her fans in December 2022 her diagnosis. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/celine-dion-reveals-heartbreaking-news-about-her-health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stiff-Person Syndrome<\/a> is described as a progressive disease that leaves its victims as \u201chuman statues\u201d who cannot walk or talk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cYou think of the simple things, you\u2019re not thinking you\u2019re gong to die,\u201d Dion told Kotb. \u201cYou can have what looks like seizures. You don\u2019t remember everything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During her NBC interview, the singer said she won\u2019t let this disease stop her from performing again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI\u2019m going to go back onstage, even if I have to crawl,\u201d Dion said. \u201cEven if I have to talk with my hands, I will. I will. I am C\u00e9line Dion, because today my voice will be heard for the first time, not just because I have to, or because I need to.
