In a Fox News interview following the trial where Hunter Biden was convicted on charges related to firearms, including lying on a gun application, Comer emphasized that this verdict poses additional legal\u200d troubles for Hunter Biden, who\u2062 faces up to 25 years\u200b in prison and $750,000 in fines. Comer also mentioned that Hunter Biden&#8217;s congressional deposition \u2064involved\u200d perjury as he allegedly\u2063 lied to protect Joe Biden, which could impact his\u2063 sentencing for the current convictions.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) responded to the guilty verdict in the Hunter Biden gun trial this week by saying that justice has not been served because the Bidens have not been held accountable for alleged crimes they have committed.<\/p>\n<p>Comer made the remarks during a Fox News interview on Tuesday night after a federal jury convicted Hunter Biden, 54, on all three felony counts, including lying to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/court-declares-laws-banning-handgun-sales-to-people-under-21-unconstitutional\/\" title=\"Court Declares Laws Banning Handgun Sales To People Under 21 Unconstitutional\">federally licensed firearms dealer<\/a>, making a false claim on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-responds-to-hunter-biden-indictment-with-major-allegation-the-only-crime-that-does-not-implicate-crooked-joe\/\" title=\"Trump accuses Hunter Biden of committing the only crime that doesn't involve Joe Biden.\">federal firearms background check form<\/a>, and being in possession of an illegally obtained firearm. Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison for his crimes and up to $750,000 in fines.<\/p>\n<p>Comer said that the conviction spelled \u201cmore problems for Hunter Biden\u201d because he is facing other criminal prosecutions and is now a convicted felon, meaning his sentencing could become more severe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, what Hunter Biden did in his [congressional] deposition is he clearly lied,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd why did he lie? He lied to protect Joe Biden. But the fact that he lied under oath is clearly perjury, this will be used to determine his sentencing. So not only do you have the gun trial, where he clearly lied on the gun application, the jury saw right through that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow he\u2019s got his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/antivirus-software-entrepreneur-john-mcafee-tries-to-halt-extradition-to-u-s-over-alleged-tax-crimes\/\" title=\"Antivirus software entrepreneur John McAfee tries to halt extradition to U.S. over alleged tax crimes\">tax evasion charges<\/a>, where we know he didn\u2019t pay his taxes, we know to this day, he hasn\u2019t paid his taxes,\u201d he continued. \u201cHis taxes were paid years later by a major Democrat donor prior to the presidential election to help alleviate a problem Joe Biden had in the presidential election against Trump. So what we\u2019ve done with the criminal referrals, as you know, is the first step. It\u2019s just the beginning. We had three people testify, who were once partners with Hunter Biden in these schemes. They testified under oath, that the Biden\u2019s were selling the Biden brand, they were selling access to Joe Biden, there was never a legitimate business.
