It certainly didn\u2019t for several X users who noted in various posts this week that they were casualties of what appeared to be her mass-blocking binge. <\/p>\n<p>Hayhoe, a political science professor and public health program <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katharinehayhoe.com\/biography\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">associate<\/a> in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.depts.ttu.edu\/politicalscience\/Faculty\/Hayhoe_Katharine.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Texas Tech University<\/a> in Lubbock, Texas, apparently cut off dozens of <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/seanmdav\/status\/1800601663553618390\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conservative commentators<\/a>, Texas Tech <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TheRifleman11\/status\/1800602278610554975\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">alumni<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ChrisMartzWX\/status\/1800544210359316719\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">climatologists who dissent<\/a> from left-wing narratives, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/redlaneacademy\/status\/1800606991720861775\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">and<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/derekahunter\/status\/1800606612052115887\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">others<\/a> on X from viewing her feed even though many had never interacted with her account before.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1040069260\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-14a6368ad9b6bfd8311770c4611c3193 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-14a6368ad9b6bfd8311770c4611c3193\"><\/div>\n<p>Hayhoe isn\u2019t a nobody simply fending off randoms. She made waves earlier this year after she let a shamanic chieftess cough on her head to kick off a \u201cClimate Crisis and Consequences\u201d panel at the 2024 annual World Economic Forum meeting.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <span class=\"kPs7PBNX1TLJ1lCinxjTo6hVK4MiytzWbO0BXsW8Ixc0ZSA3gEEndrwQ2HhUrQugRN2OyufMcaqLVw79evpG\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">What\u2019s happening here?<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KymWZwIWaJ\">pic.twitter.com\/KymWZwIWaJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TPostMillennial\/status\/1747697153252692315?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 17, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/span> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>In addition to her WEF ties and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katharinehayhoe.com\/biography\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lengthy list of awards and accolades for her climate alarmism<\/a>, Hayhoe has gained popularity in Christian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2022\/01\/03\/magazine\/katharine-hayhoe-interview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">evangelical<\/a> circles, and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/megbasham\/status\/1800636878124659163\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary<\/a> even <a href=\"https:\/\/cfc.sebts.edu\/faith-and-science\/katharine-hayhoe-climate-change-facts-fictions-faith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tapped<\/a> her to speak <a href=\"https:\/\/cfc.sebts.edu\/faith-and-science\/katharine-hayhoe-the-faith-of-a-climate-scientist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">multiple times<\/a> after she claimed to know how to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katharinehayhoe.com\/2019\/09\/16\/katharine-hayhoe-reconciles-christianity-and-climate-science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201creconcile Christianity and climate science.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Despite her popularity in the leftist-laced world of climate panic, Hayhoe is not interested in sharing her work with anybody and everybody on the internet. If you disagree with her narrow views on climate change or anything else, or follow or engage with someone who does, you are eligible for her blacklist.<\/p>\n<p>The banner gracing the Canadian\u2019s X account boasts of blocking \u201ctrolls\u201d who disagree with the sentiment \u201cthe most important thing you can do to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-concerning-foreign-policy\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Concerning Foreign Policy\">fight climate change<\/a>: talk about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7c0e900536f7aa383083c9fb9ee6532c fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7c0e900536f7aa383083c9fb9ee6532c\"><\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>Hayhoe takes pride in blocking not just internet trolls, but anyone who shares content <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KHayhoe\/status\/1800322776135614863\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">she deems \u201chate.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>Users who questioned her methods were scolded and told to review her previous posts purporting <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KHayhoe\/status\/1032658523002482688\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201chumans are the dominant source of warming.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAs a female climate scientist, blocking is the only thing that makes my engagement here on Twitter\/X possible,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KHayhoe\/status\/1692578816466600060\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hayhoe wrote last year<\/a>, openly worrying that people who see an alternate viewpoint on climate change will \u201cengage with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Hayhoe is <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/chrismartzwx\/status\/1800611765408981331?s=46&#038;t=I7N1H1-oUXmNHfmubmtX-g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">described by the New York Times<\/a> as \u201cone of the nation\u2019s most effective communicators on climate change.\u201d Several people claiming to be her former students asserted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ratemyprofessors.com\/professor\/2435121\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rate My Professor<\/a> that she inappropriately used university resources to propagandize students in favor of the leftist climate change agenda she professionally touts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5c7803911c71c49f7d9b825e51eca689 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5c7803911c71c49f7d9b825e51eca689\"><\/div>\n<p>One reviewer who allegedly took the class in 2022 said Hayhoe used a \u201cmisleading\u201d course description to lure students into her classroom under the guise of a political science credit for upperclassmen. Her ultimate goal, however, was \u201ccreating climate activists\u201d out of them. <\/p>\n<p>Another accused the \u201cclosed minded\u201d Hayhoe of \u201cusing political science to propagate her activism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe should not be teaching this course as a Political Science class. This course was focused on proving her claims as a climatologist rather than focusing on the political division the subject causes like she promised. She lied about the intent,\u201d the 2022 review states. <\/p>\n<p>In a 2020 post, Hayhoe admitted that Texas Tech students are less willing to take a class if it contains the word \u201cclimate\u201d because \u201cthey are self-selecting and not taking it if they don\u2019t accept the science.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the content includes climate but it\u2019s not in the title, they were. Which is a bigger problem IMHO!\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KHayhoe\/status\/1234862408180600833\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote.<\/a> <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>Hayhoe\u2019s behavior is ripe for criticism from the public and her employer, especially since Texas Tech was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.collegevaluesonline.com\/rankings\/conservative-colleges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dubbed<\/a> one of the most conservative public universities in the nation. Yet, her penchant for shutting out anyone on social media who holds different political beliefs than she does suggests an attempt to stifle that criticism from reaching the right person\u2019s ears.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court ruled this year that it is a First Amendment violation for public officials who post about their government-funded work on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cancel-culture-mob-slams-transgender-author-and-activist-for-allegedly-working-at-lockheed-martin\/\" title=\"Cancel Culture Mob Slams Transgender Author And Activist For Allegedly Working At Lockheed Martin\u00a0\">personal social media accounts<\/a> to block citizens from accessing their feeds. As Justice Amy Coney Barrett noted in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/23pdf\/22-611_ap6c.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">court\u2019s unanimous opinion<\/a>, infringement occurs when a government employee silences social media critics despite having \u201cactual authority to speak on behalf of the state on a particular matter\u201d and after \u201cpurport[ing] to exercise that authority in the relevant posts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since Hayhoe\u2019s paycheck comes from an institution that is funded by the federal and state governments, her social media activity \u2014 including an unprompted blocking spree \u2014 could be subject to the test outlined by the high bench.<\/p>\n<p>Hayhoe, her personal assistant, the Texas Tech chancellor\u2019s Chief of Staff Dailey Fuller, and the university\u2019s Vice President of Marketing and Communications Matthew Dewey did not respond to questions about whether or not the professor received approval from the state school\u2019s general counsel to initiate a widespread blocking campaign.
