According to reports from the New York Post and\u2064 NBC\u200b News, the arrests were made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in \u200ccities including New York City, Los\u200b Angeles, and Philadelphia. Sources claim that individuals were apprehended following a wiretap investigation that captured discussions \u2062about bombs.<\/p>\n<p>At least two of the suspects entered the U.S. last spring, with one using the Border \u2062Patrol app CBP One to \u200cseek \u2063asylum, \u200bper NBC sources. The app, created during President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration, is criticized by some for aiding\u2063 in\u200b the fast entry of illegal immigrants who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/border-authorities-have-already-encountered-a-million-migrants-since-october-earliest-ever-report\/\" title=\"Border authorities have faced one million migrants since October, marking the earliest record, according to a report\">seek economic opportunities<\/a> under the guise of asylum, thus preventing their immediate deportation. The \u200barrested individuals are reported to be from Tajikistan and \u2064Russia. The FBI\u2019s Joint Terrorism Task Force had been monitoring them after identifying \u2064a \u2063possible terrorist threat originating from central Europe, leading to coordinated arrests over a weekend. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that these arrests were part of actions carried out under immigration authorities.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Eight foreign nationals with suspected ties to ISIS were reportedly arrested in recent days in multiple U.S. cities after they illegally entered the country through the southern border.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Post, which broke the story, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/06\/11\/us-news\/six-suspected-terrorists-with-isis-ties-arrested-in-sting-operation\/\">cited<\/a> unnamed \u201cICE sources,\u201d reporting, \u201cpart of the investigation featured a wiretap which revealed one of the now-arrested individuals was talking about bombs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Out of the eight suspects, at least two entered the U.S. last spring, and one of those men used the Border Patrol app (CBP One) to claim asylum, sources told NBC.<\/p>\n<p>Critics and immigration hawks say that the app was created by President Joe Biden\u2019s administration to expedite the mass importation of illegal aliens who come to the U.S. primarily for economic opportunities and abuse the asylum system by claiming that they have credible fear for their safety back home, which shields them from deportation.<\/p>\n<p>Personnel from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made the arrests over the weekend in New York City, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>NBC News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/8-suspected-terrorists-possible-isis-ties-arrested-new-york-l-philadel-rcna156635\">reported<\/a> that the eight men were all from Tajikistan. Is No Agency Off Limits?\">potential terrorist threat<\/a> to the U.S. homeland originating out of central Europe, NBC News reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the last few days, ICE agents arrested several non-citizens pursuant to immigration authorities,\u201d the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe actions were carried out in close coordination with the FBI\u2019s Joint Terrorism Task Forces,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cThe individuals arrested are detained in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
