(AP Photo\/Manuel Balce Ceneta)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Democratic strategist Basil Smikle told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-06-11\/biden-plan-to-brand-trump-a-felon-is-hobbled-by-son-s-conviction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><em>Bloomberg<\/em><\/a>  that Republicans \u201cmay seize on a guilty verdict and continue to find ways to connect the president to the actions of his son, even though it\u2019s been clear that the president hasn\u2019t been involved such that it would impact his presidency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200bJohn Malcolm, vice president of the conservative Heritage Foundation\u2019s Institute for Constitutional Government, said painting Trump as a convicted felon could be undermined by Hunter Biden\u2019s verdict.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s going to blunt the sting of the Trump conviction, although how much I don\u2019t know,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Still, former Democratic Rep.
