The employee, who had been\u2062 with the FBI \u200cfor 12 years, reported himself for being in\u2064 Washington, D.C., on \u200dJanuary 6, 2021, during the Capitol\u2064 protests. He was on personal leave that day and claimed to have peacefully observed the protests. However, following an investigation by the FBI&#8217;s Security Division regarding his\u2063 support for former President Donald Trump, his vocal objections\u2063 to COVID-19 vaccinations, and\u200b his presence at the protests, his security clearance \u200cwas withdrawn in April 2022,\u2063 and he was \u200csuspended without pay.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint,\u200c filed by Empower Oversight on behalf of the employee, alleges that the FBI&#8217;s actions\u200b were politically biased and \u2062represented an abuse of the\u200c security\u2062 clearance process. It claims these actions were\u2064 part of \u2063an effort to purge the FBI of \u2063employees \u200dwith <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-leaks-hasbro-backs-away-from-critical-race-training-but-corporate-statements-show-commitment-to-anti-racism\/\" title=\"After Leaks, Hasbro Backs Away from Critical Race Training But Corporate Statements Show Commitment To \u2018Anti-Racism\u2019\">conservative political views<\/a> or those opposed to the COVID-19\u200c vaccine requirement. These allegations have raised concerns about potential violations of the employee&#8217;s First \u200bAmendment rights.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An employee of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/fbi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI<\/a> had his security clearance revoked after the bureau investigated his support for former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> and opposition to COVID vaccines, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/empowr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/2024-06-08-TL-to-DOJ-OIG-Protected-Disclosure-FINAL-REDACTED.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">complaint<\/a> made public on Monday after it was recently filed against the Justice Department. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The complaint, sent to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz by the government watchdog group Empower Oversight, claims that an FBI employee was punished by the bureau over his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/education-insanity-top-10-stories-of-the-week-vol-27\/\" title=\"Education Insanity: Top 10 Stories Of The Week (Vol. 27)\">politically conservative views<\/a>. According to documents included in the complaint, the FBI interviewed people familiar with the employee about his stances on Trump, COVID, and January 6. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The FBI\u2019s Security Division conducted the probe, referred to in the complaint as SecD. The investigation into the 12-year FBI employee was launched after he self-reported that he had been present in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021. The employee\u2019s name was redacted from the copy of the complaint made visible to the public. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to the filing, the employee, who was on personal leave, peacefully observed the protests near the Capitol on January 6, 2021. In April 2022, the employee had his security clearance revoked, and he was suspended without pay after the FBI investigated his political viewpoints. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI write today to formally disclose to you on our client\u2019s behalf shocking documents in SecD\u2019s investigative file that evidence an abuse of authority and a violation of our client\u2019s rights under the First Amendment,\u201d Empower Oversight President Tristan Leavitt wrote. \u201cThe documents appear to demonstrate SecD\u2019s political bias and abuse of the security clearance process to purge the FBI of employees who expressed disfavored political views or concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine requirement.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Security Division asked those familiar with the employee multiple questions, including whether he had vocalized \u201csupport for President Trump,\u201d vocalized \u201cobjection to Covid-19 vaccination,\u201d and discussed \u201cintent to attend 01\/06\/2021.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Notes from interviewees <a href=\"https:\/\/empowr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/2024-06-08-TL-to-DOJ-OIG-Protected-Disclosure-FINAL-REDACTED.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the FBI that the employee was a \u201cgun nut\u201d who attended a Second Amendment rally in Virginia but that he had not promoted violence. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the Trump questions, it was noted that the employee \u201cvery significantly supported\u201d Trump and \u201cwould listen to talk shows. Trump did not lose. Dems stole it. Militant point of view.
