Windsor, posing as a conservative Christian, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/president-trump-please-pardon-jon-woods-a-victim-of-process-crimes-like-michael-flynn\/\" title=\"President Trump, Please Pardon Jon Woods, a Victim of Process Crimes Like Michael Flynn\">recorded conversations<\/a>\u200b regarding \u200bthe Alitos&#8217; \u200buse of\u200c flags to express their viewpoints, including an &#8220;Appealing\u2063 to Heaven&#8221;\u200b flag and an upside down American flag, which were \u200bmisinterpreted as support for the January 6 rioters. Martha-Ann\u2062 also revealed her desire to wave flags in protest of a neighbor&#8217;s Pride flag but stated\u200c that she \u200crefrained from doing so upon her husband&#8217;s request. Although Samuel Alito was said not to\u2064 be involved in decisions regarding which flags \u2064were flown, Martha-Ann\u200d indicated plans to enact her protest once her husband was no longer\u200c bound by\u200c his judicial responsibilities. This information came to light following Windsor&#8217;s undercover documentation\u2064 of the event.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Martha-Ann Alito, the wife of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Supreme Court<\/a> Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/samuel-alito\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Samuel Alito<\/a>, said she wished to fly a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/catholicism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title> Sacred Heart<\/a> flag outside of her house but decided against it out of fear that it would have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trevor-noah-slams-bidens-south-africa-travel-ban-as-total-bullst\/\" title=\"Trevor Noah Slams Biden\u2019s South Africa Travel Ban as \u2018Total Bulls**t\u2019\">negative repercussions<\/a> for her husband.<\/p>\n<p>During the Supreme Court Historical Society\u2019s annual dinner on June 3, liberal activist Lauren Windsor secretly recorded her conversations with Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Samuel Alito,\u00a0and his wife Martha-Ann Alito. <\/p>\n<p>Posing as a conservative Christian, Windsor acted sympathetic toward Martha-Ann Alito regarding her family\u2019s media exposure over the flying of an \u201cAppeal to Heaven\u201d flag and an upside-down American flag outside of their two places of residence. The upside-down American flag was perceived by some as a statement of support for Jan. 6 rioters who questioned the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election. The Appeal to Heaven flag originated during the Revolutionary War as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanflags.com\/blog\/post\/an-appeal-to-heaven-flag-meaning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>symbol<\/a> of freedom and \u201cGod\u2019s power for justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Samuel Alito said that those flags flying were a decision made by his wife and not him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s OK. It\u2019s OK, because if they come back to me, I\u2019ll get them. I\u2019m going to be liberated, and I\u2019m going to get them.\u201d She added, \u201cThere\u2019s a five-year defamation statute of limitations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Windsor talked about how to bring America back to a godly place, and in response, Martha-Ann Alito talked about plans to wave flags in protest to her neighbor\u2019s Pride flag flown at their vacation home in New Jersey. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know what I want? I want a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag because I have to look across the lagoon at the Pride flag for the next month,\u201d Martha-Ann Alito said.<\/p>\n<p>Affirming that her husband has no part in what flags fly outside of their homes, Martha-Ann Alito said her husband asked her not to fly any flags protesting the LGBT rights movement. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI won\u2019t do it because I am deferring to you [referring to Alito],\u201d Martha-Ann Alito said. \u201cBut when you are free of this nonsense, I\u2019m putting it up, and I\u2019m going to send them a message every day, maybe every week, I\u2019ll be changing the flags. They\u2019ll be all kinds. I made a flag in my head. This is how I satisfy myself. I made a flag. It\u2019s white and has yellow and orange flames around it. And in the middle is the word \u2018vergogna.\u2019 \u2018Vergogna\u2019 in Italian means shame \u2014 vergogna. V-E-R-G-O-G-N-A. Vergogna. Shame, shame, shame on you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Windsor also made a comment that Martha-Ann Alito was being persecuted as \u201ca convenient stand-in for anybody who\u2019s religious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Martha-Ann Alito responded that her German heritage gave her the strength to withstand assaults.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook at me. Look at me. I\u2019m German,\u201d Martha-Ann Alito said. \u201cI\u2019m from Germany. My heritage is German. You come after me, I\u2019m going to give it back to you. And there will be a way \u2014 it doesn\u2019t have to be now \u2014 but there will be a way they will know. Don\u2019t worry about it. God \u2014 you read the Bible. Psalm 27 is my psalm. Mine. Psalm 27, the Lord is my God and my rock. Of whom shall I be afraid? Nobody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Windsor, she believed it was important to record her conversations with the justice\u2019s wife since it gives her insight on the justice\u2019s thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t consider Martha-Ann a private figure, given that she\u2019s married to a Supreme Court justice, and she\u2019s a window into his thinking,\u201d Windsor told<em> Rolling Stone. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Windsor, who shared the audio recordings on X (where she states that she is a \u201cjournalist\u201d), also shared in the thread a link for people to donate through Act Blue, a left-leaning fundraising website.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>\u200b\u200b<a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>James Duff, the executive director of the Supreme Court Historical Society, told the <em>Washington Examiner,<\/em> \u201cOur policy is to ensure that all attendees, including the Justices, are treated with respect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe condemn the surreptitious recording of Justices at the event, which is inconsistent with the entire spirit of the evening,\u201d Duff said, adding attendees are told that \u201cdiscussion of current cases, cases decided by current sitting Justices, or a Justice\u2019s jurisprudence is strictly prohibited and may result in forfeiture of membership in the Society.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Martha-Ann Alito, wife of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, refrained from flying a Sacred Heart flag at her home, fearing negative impacts on her husband.
