He explained that such a belief undermines the credibility of \u2064their other \u2064statements. His stance reflects a broader discussion on the persistence of election misinformation among \u200cTrump supporters and its role as a \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/implicit-bias-is-nothing-but-divisive-junk-science\/\" title=\"\u2018Implicit Bias\u2019 Is Nothing But Divisive Junk Science\">litmus test<\/a> in what Stephanopoulos termed &#8220;MAGA World.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>With just over two weeks to go before President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are set to face off in their first debate of the 2024 presidential election, ABC News host George Stephanopoulos told CNN host Abby Phillip that there was only one question that truly needed to be asked and answered: \u201cWho won the last election?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stephanopoulos joined Phillip for Monday\u2019s broadcast of \u201cCNN NewsNight\u201d to talk about his book, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/reprehensible-cnn-analyst-slams-democratic-rep-moulton-and-republican-rep-meijer-for-unauthorized-instagram-trip-to-kabul\/\" title=\"\u2018Reprehensible\u2019: CNN Analyst Slams Democratic Rep. Meijer For Unauthorized \u2018Instagram Trip\u2019 To Kabul\">topic turned<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nevada-sheriff-announces-run-to-challenge-democrat-governor-sisolak\/\" title=\"Nevada Sheriff Announces Run To Challenge Democrat Governor Sisolak\">presidential politics<\/a> and the ABC host\u2019s refusal to give anyone a platform on his show if they believe the 2020 presidential election may have been \u201cstolen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former Clinton aide explained that if someone believed the election was stolen, he had no reason to trust anything else they had to say.<\/p>\n<p>Phillip, as reported by Mediaite, was only too happy to indulge Stephanopoulos\u2019 train of thought on the topic, claiming that a steadfast refusal to acknowledge facts was all part and parcel of being a Trump supporter: \u201c[T]his seems to be, kind of, also another litmus test for how to be in MAGA World. I\u2019m not going to participate in some kind of a sham where you somehow equate the legitimacy of an election or the peaceful transfer of power with a debate over tax cuts or environmental regulation. If you can\u2019t pass that fundamental threshold of saying, \u2018Yes, the last election was not stolen, two, I will abide by the results of the next election,\u2019 then I think that\u2019s all voters and viewers need to know.
