The texts\u200c appeared to show Hunter attempting to buy drugs at the time \u2063he purchased the firearm. Hallie,\u2062 the\u200b widow of Hunter&#8217;s\u200d late brother Beau Biden, interpreted\u2064 these messages as indicating Hunter&#8217;s involvement in buying crack cocaine. The \u200bjuror emphasized that the decision was based on the evidence\u2062 presented, reflecting Hunter&#8217;s state\u200c at the time of the purchase. Despite the quick verdict, political affiliations\u200b or familial connections, including \u200bPresident \u200dJoe Biden, seemingly \u2062played no part in the jury\u2019s discussions\u2063 or\u2064 decision. The jury\u200b largely focused on \u2062the evidence without letting politics influence their \u2064judgment.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/%20\"><span>Jack Davis<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 11, 2024 at 11:31am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Text messages between Hunter Biden and his sister-in-law were a key factor in his conviction according to one juror<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-jury-announces-verdict-hunter-biden-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hunter Biden was convicted<\/a> Tuesday on three felony counts of lying about his drug use when he bought a gun in 2018 \u2014 making a false statement in the purchase of a firearm, making a false statement related to information required to be kept by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/court-declares-laws-banning-handgun-sales-to-people-under-21-unconstitutional\/\" title=\"Court Declares Laws Banning Handgun Sales To People Under 21 Unconstitutional\">federally licensed firearms dealer<\/a>, and possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of or addict to a controlled substance, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/06\/11\/us-news\/hunter-biden-convicted-of-felony-gun-charges-faces-25-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A juror who spoke to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/06\/11\/us-news\/texts-between-hunter-biden-sister-in-law-turned-lover-were-damning-evidence-at-gun-trial-juror-reveals\/?utm_medium=social&#038;utm_source=twitter&#038;utm_campaign=nypost\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a> said messages between Hunter Biden and Hallie Biden \u2014 the wife of his later brother, Beau Biden, with whom Hunter had a fling \u2014 were important is showing what Hunter Biden was like at the time he bought the gun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The text messages showed], in my opinion, he was training to get drugs,\u201d said a juror the Post described as a black 51-year-old woman from upper Delaware.<\/p>\n<p>The Post noted that when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-bidens-legal-team-throws-beaus-widow-bus-turning-trial-messy-biden-v-biden-affair\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hallie Biden<\/a> testified in the trial, she was shown a text from Oct. 13, 2018, one day after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-campaign-releases-statement-hunter-biden-verdict-calls-biden-crime-family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hunter Biden<\/a> bought the gun. The text said he was in a car\u00a0waiting for\u00a0a dealer whose name was Mookie.<\/p>\n<p>Hallie Biden testified that she thought the text meant \u201cthat he was buying crack cocaine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Hunter Biden text the following day said he was smoking crack and sleeping on a car.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden \u201clooks kind of defeated. He looks kind of helpless to me,\u201d the juror said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he just needs to get away somewhere and get some real rehab, if he hasn\u2019t. Hopefully he\u2019s still not using,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should Hunter Biden receive the maximum sentence?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Post reported that although the verdict came quickly Tuesday, that was not the way it appeared Monday after an informal vote, according to another juror.<\/p>\n<p>That juror said five jury members changed their minds overnight.<\/p>\n<p>The final juror was uncertain Hunter Biden was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/joe-biden-directly-contradicts-past-comments-new-statement-hunters-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on crack<\/a> when the gun was purchased but reviewed the evidence and changed her mind.<\/p>\n<p>The upper Delaware juror said the panel \u201cworked together really well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was expecting all of us to be at each other\u2019s throats, you know, because of who his father is and how the political climate is in this country,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Juror 10 told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/politics\/live-news\/hunter-biden-trial-06-11-24\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> the Biden family was not an issue during deliberations.<\/p>\n<p>The jury mainly focused on evidence, not Hunter Biden\u2019s lifestyle, during deliberations, the juror explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t use Jill. We didn\u2019t use President Biden,\u201d he said, adding Joe Biden\u2019s \u201cname was only brought up once during the trial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo politics came into play, and politics was not even spoken about,\u201d the juror said,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really don\u2019t think that Hunter belongs in jail,\u201d\u00a0the juror said.
