While the president has already issued a statement on his son\u2019s ruling, Bedingfield contended that Biden should not continue to talk about it, as he has been \u201cvery disciplined\u201d in not bringing attention to his son.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think also it wouldn\u2018t, just on a human level, I think it wouldn\u2018t be great for his son,\u201d Bedingfield said on CNN\u2019s <em>Inside Politics with Dana Bash<\/em>. \u201cI mean, I don\u2018t think he wants to be out there every day talking about this incredibly difficult moment. So no, I think both politically and personally that wouldn\u2018t be smart. I think he\u2018s struck a pretty disciplined line here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bedingfield claimed that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-rep-greg-murphy-bidens-365-days-of-self-inflicted-disasters\/\" title=\"Exclusive\u2014Rep. Among the personal challenges Bedingfield referenced was how his first wife and daughter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/this-day-in-history\/joe-biden-loses-first-wife-and-daughter-in-tragic-car-accident\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>were killed in 1972<\/a>, shortly after Biden was first elected to the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden\u2019s charges were brought by special counsel David Weiss last September, who had been investigating him for five years for tax crimes and Foreign Agents Registration Act violations, and the gun charges were a byproduct of that investigation. Weiss also charged Hunter Biden in a separate case in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>California<\/a> with nine tax crimes, and the president\u2019s son is set to stand trial there in September.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of the ruling, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/biden-support-hunter-after-conviction\/story?id=111020929\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>described himself<\/a> as both a president and a father who loves his son, but that he intends to respect the outcome of his son\u2019s case.
