During an interview on CBS&#8217;s &#8220;Late Show\u200c with Stephen Colbert,&#8221; Booker criticized Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and\u2064 Amy Coney Barrett for overturning Roe v. Wade, despite widespread public\u200c support for it. \u2063He highlighted the threat to rights such as access to\u200d IVF, which most \u2062Americans support according to him. Booker emphasized the need for\u200d Congress to take action, given his lack of trust in the Trump-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/things-that-donald-trump-did-not-do\/\" title=\"Things That Donald Trump Did Not Do\">appointed judges<\/a>, whom he described as extreme right-wing. Meanwhile, Trump has publicly supported IVF, contradicting the fears \u200bsurrounding rights \u200bunder his appointed judges.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/cory-booker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Cory Booker<\/a> (D-NJ) stated he would not trust the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Supreme Court<\/a> to secure the people\u2019s rights should former President Donald Trump win in November.<\/p>\n<p>Booker specifically criticized judges who were appointed by Trump during his presidency, including Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">senator<\/a> said the Supreme Court overturned <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/roe-v-wade\/#:~:text=In%20June%202022%2C%20the%20Supreme,woman%20can%20terminate%20a%20pregnancy.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Roe v. Wade<\/a><\/em>  even though \u201cthe majority of Americans\u201d supported it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe majority of Americans believe that we should have access to IVF,\u201d Booker said in an appearance on CBS\u2019s<em> Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/em>. \u201cI do not trust these Trump-appointed judges. The last time, he got in there and packed our courts with extreme right-wing folks. I do not trust them to secure our rights. Congress must act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/2872497\/trump-gop-always-support-ivf-alabama-ruling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"came out in support \">came out in support <\/a>of IVF in February, saying he would \u201calways support\u201d it.<\/p>\n<p>Colbert criticized how the Supreme Court justices were voted into their positions by the U.S. Senate after getting nominated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-taking-regeneron-drug-remdesivir-therapy-for-coronavirus-diagnosis-ex-wh-doctor-explains\/\" title=\"Trump taking Regeneron drug, Remdesivir therapy for coronavirus diagnosis: ex-WH doctor explains\">president<\/a>, noting how each state only gets two senators who each get one vote. Because of this, he claimed the senators only represent \u201ca fraction\u201d of voters in their states.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-jersey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>New Jersey<\/a> senator contended that while he would not say if there are \u201cdesign issues\u201d with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/constitution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Constitution<\/a>, he would say that the founders of the country implemented a way for people to change the Constitution, citing the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so, Americans have a choice,\u201d Booker said. \u201cWe can surrender to cynicism about our federal government and all the ways we see it being antidemocratic, unfair, or unjust, or we can take lessons from our ancestors who never gave up on America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the 2024 election season, Booker encouraged viewers to stop worrying about the results and instead \u201cturn your worry into work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Booker joined Sens. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Patty Murray (D-WA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booker.senate.gov\/news\/press\/booker-duckworth-murray-unveil-sweeping-legislative-package-to-establish-a-nationwide-right-to-ivf-and-lower-ivf-costs-for-families#:~:text=WASHINGTON%2C%20D.C.%20%E2%80%93%20Today%2C%20U.S.,fertilization%20(IVF)%20and%20other%20assisted\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>to unveil a legislative bill<\/a> that would establish a right to IVF across the nation.
