The trial sidestepped the most serious allegations against Biden \u2014 and their implications for his president father \u2014 while teeing up talking points for Biden supporters to insist the justice system is fair after the left brazenly weaponized the justice system to target former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden\u2019s son was found guilty of lying on application paperwork while addicted to drugs to obtain a firearm and unlawfully possessing said firearm.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-125611151\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e8640c7ee21e9cba07ded2fd7af206d4 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e8640c7ee21e9cba07ded2fd7af206d4\"><\/div>\n<p>Leftists like MSNBC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/tomselliott\/status\/1800552976194605298\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Andrew Weissmann<\/a>, desperate to absolve themselves of accountability for cheering on the weaponization of the justice system against Trump, have already begun using Hunter\u2019s conviction to declare the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-pirro-chauvin-verdict-supported-by-facts-appeal-will-fail-american-justice-system-works\/\" title=\"Judge Pirro: Chauvin Verdict Supported By \u2018Facts,\u2019 Appeal Will Fail; \u2018American Justice System Works\u2019\">justice system works<\/a> just fine since <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/06\/the-hunter-biden-trial-prosecutors-tried-not-to-bring-is-more-proof-our-justice-system-is-a-joke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hunter<\/a> was also found guilty.<\/p>\n<p>But as Federalist CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/seanmdav\/status\/1800274804651508210\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sean Davis<\/a> aptly noted shortly before Hunter\u2019s conviction, \u201cany verdict in the gun trial is functionally irrelevant because the corrupt Biden [administration] has already proven that the entire justice system is rigged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For starters, IRS whistleblowers came forward last summer alleging the Department of Justice slow-walked <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/irs-whistleblower-fbi-tipped-off-people-very-close-to-joe-and-hunter-before-irs-investigative-teams-day-of-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investigations<\/a> into Hunter and \u201ceven <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/delaware-prosecutors-hid-fbi-bribery-document-from-irs-investigators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">concealed<\/a> critical evidence implicating President Joe Biden in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whistleblower-alleges-fbi-has-evidence-of-biden-engaging-in-bribery-scheme-with-foreign-national\/\" title=\"FBI has evidence of Biden's bribery scheme with foreign national, says whistleblower.\">criminal bribery scheme<\/a>,\u201d as my colleague Tristan Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/22\/jason-smith-new-whistleblower-documents-show-hunter-biden-lied-to-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, \u201cPresident Biden\u2019s politically appointed U.S. Attorneys for D.C. and Central District of California denied the U.S. Attorney in Delaware\u2019s request to bring charges, which \u2026 put Hunter Biden on the path to a sweetheart plea deal,\u201d as the House Oversight Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/hearing-wrap-up-irs-whistleblowers-expose-how-bidens-were-treated-differently%EF%BF%BC\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explained<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-54c4adee344e6f5b369844dc3c53183e fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-54c4adee344e6f5b369844dc3c53183e\"><\/div>\n<p>That sweetheart deal was set to exculpate Hunter from \u201cany other federal crimes\u201d he may have committed by allowing him to plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax offenses while avoiding responsibility for the gun charges by entering into a deferred prosecution agreement, as explained by Steve Roberts, Jonathan Fahey, and Andrew Pardue for <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/04\/heres-everything-you-need-to-know-about-hunter-bidens-criminal-gun-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Federalist<\/a>. The plea deal fell apart after scrutiny from a federal judge which led to prosecutors being unwilling to accept the blanket immunity request.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter does face additional charges in September for some tax charges after he allegedly dodged more than $1.4 million in taxes. But the DOJ \u2014 according to IRS whistleblowers \u2014 allowed the statute of limitations to expire on Hunter\u2019s alleged tax evasion between 2014 and 2015, the same years he was being paid big bucks by Ukrainian energy firm Burisma. Hunter was paid as much as $83,000 per month to sit on the firm\u2019s board, where his primary contribution appeared to be the Biden \u201cbrand\u201d and access to his then<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/8-joe-biden-scandals-inside-hunter-bidens-macbook-that-corporate-media-just-admitted-is-legit\/\" title=\"8 Joe Biden Scandals Inside Hunter Biden\u2019s MacBook That Corporate Media Just Admitted Is Legit\">-vice president father<\/a>. Around that time, then-Vice President Joe Biden \u2014 by his own admission \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/01\/evidence-of-biden-burisma-corruption-is-overwhelming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">threatened<\/a> to withhold aid to Ukraine unless a top prosecutor who was investigating Burisma\u2019s leadership was fired.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter never registered as a foreign agent despite <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/01\/hunter-biden-confesses-he-was-paid-by-china-exposing-one-of-his-dads-biggest-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitting<\/a> during a closed-door hearing before the House Oversight Committee that he received multiple payments from Chinese Communist Party-linked businesses. His father, during the 2020 presidential debate, claimed his son never \u201cmade money\u201d from China.<\/p>\n<p>There are also <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/06\/the-hunter-biden-trial-prosecutors-tried-not-to-bring-is-more-proof-our-justice-system-is-a-joke\/\">concer<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/06\/the-hunter-biden-trial-prosecutors-tried-not-to-bring-is-more-proof-our-justice-system-is-a-joke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">n<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/06\/the-hunter-biden-trial-prosecutors-tried-not-to-bring-is-more-proof-our-justice-system-is-a-joke\/\">s<\/a> from the House Oversight Committee that the \u201cDOJ disregarded the victims who were sexually exploited by Hunter Biden\u201d after Hunter allegedly paid prostitutes \u201cand used such payments as tax expenses for one of his companies.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8f82ce4c346559d9df739bdcc4a46edc fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8f82ce4c346559d9df739bdcc4a46edc\"><\/div>\n<p>As my colleague John Daniel Davidson <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/11\/unequal-application-of-the-law-in-america-today-isnt-hypocrisy-its-hierarchy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">summarized<\/a>, \u201cHunter Biden can run a complex, years-long foreign influence-peddling scheme to enrich his family, and all he\u2019ll ever face are minor, unrelated gun charges \u2014 a fig leaf over the corruption that\u2019s right at the heart of the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe entire purpose of the trial is to provide a thin veneer of justice served, while the real crimes of the Biden family go unpunished and unacknowledged,\u201d Davidson continued. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f60ffd7857d467e9931bc5e5f94ef240 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f60ffd7857d467e9931bc5e5f94ef240\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hunter Biden was convicted on three federal gun charges Tuesday.
