I know that for a fact,\u201d a corrections official told Lauren Bis, director of communication and engagement for the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF). <\/p>\n<p>So, it\u2019s curious why Nevada elections officials continued to list the late William Sitton on the local voter rolls earlier this year when the decedent clearly won\u2019t be voting anytime soon. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s downright alarming that hundreds of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watchdog-discovers-thousands-unexplained-changes-in-florida-voter-rolls\/\" title=\"Florida voter rolls found to have thousands of unexplained changes, watchdog reveals.\">questionable addresses remain<\/a> on Nevada\u2019s voter rolls, and elections officials in this pivotal swing state appear to be doing nothing to clean up the list. In a rematch of the 2020 presidential election in which Democrat challenger Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvsos.gov\/silverstate2020gen\/USPresidential\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">squeezed out<\/a> a narrow victory over Republican President Donald Trump in the Silver State, every vote will be scrutinized. <\/p>\n<p>Particularly in a state that automatically mails a ballot to every active registrant on the voter rolls. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-55be4f8e9078ca14f67aa981d8e12557 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-55be4f8e9078ca14f67aa981d8e12557\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cNevada election officials are clearly failing to investigate and fix errors relating to commercial addresses on the voter roll, and that\u2019s why we\u2019re drawing attention to this issue so election officials will see this evidence that they can\u2019t refute and start to take action to fix and clean the voter roll,\u201d Bis says on a stunning new investigative <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4Cpz61NIQe8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video<\/a> produced by PILF to document the long list of bad addresses.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018I\u2019m Looking for Ronald Phelps\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The election integrity public interest law firm tracked data from the Nevada secretary of state\u2019s office, which in the 2022 midterms reported 95,556 ballots sent to undeliverable, or \u201cbad\u201d addresses. PILF investigators documented commercial addresses purported to be the residences of registered voters, confirming on video that the individuals did not live where they reported residing. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Nevada, by the state law, you are required to be registered where you actually live, where you sleep. Not where you work, not at a P.O. Box. So we\u2019re trying to get elections officials to enforce the law,\u201d Bis says in the video. <\/p>\n<p>Bis showed up on a lot of doorsteps around Las Vegas, the Silver State\u2019s largest city and a bastion of Democrat voters. She was greeted with a lot of quizzical looks from employees at the casinos, fast food restaurants, retailers, post offices, funeral homes, strip clubs, tattoo parlors, and jails where registered voters \u2014 at least according to Nevada\u2019s dirty voter rolls \u2014 \u201cresided.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-11cb6a3e5fb9c2c5d6bd68dcdbb22df7 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-11cb6a3e5fb9c2c5d6bd68dcdbb22df7\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking for Ronald or William Phelps,\u201d Bis says to a bartender wearing a \u201cTacos por favor\u201d T-shirt at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mark-cuban-bought-an-entire-town-in-texas\/\" title=\"Mark Cuban Bought An Entire Town In Texas\">local watering hole<\/a> on North Nellis Boulevard in Vegas. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know who that is,\u201d the barkeep replies. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, they don\u2019t live here?\u201d Bis asks. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cUh, at the bar? No,\u201d the bartender says, chuckling. She\u2019s clearly amused by the question. <\/p>\n<p>It sounds absurd, people apparently listing their residential address \u2014 their voting address \u2014 at a bar. But this is serious stuff on the election integrity front, especially in a state accused of keeping <a href=\"https:\/\/www.8newsnow.com\/news\/local-news\/republicans-lawsuit-slams-failure-to-update-voter-registration-rolls-in-nevada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cimpossibly high\u201d<\/a> voter registration numbers, a state that allows <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/15\/in-nevadas-biggest-county-nearly-40000-ballots-counted-despite-arriving-after-election-day-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">late-arriving ballots<\/a> to be counted long after Election Day. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Worst Way to Run an Election\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>As The Federalist <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/15\/in-nevadas-biggest-county-nearly-40000-ballots-counted-despite-arriving-after-election-day-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> last month, in Clark County alone, home to Las Vegas, nearly 40,000 mail ballots that arrived in the days after voting supposedly ended in the 2022 election were counted, making up roughly 5 percent of the county\u2019s total ballot count. In Washoe County, Nevada\u2019s second-most populated county, the extended ballot count accounted for nearly 3 percent of the total votes. <\/p>\n<p>Republican Senate candidate Adam Laxalt led Democrat incumbent Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto on election night but eventually lost by less than 8,000 votes statewide, a fragment of the total ballots that arrived late. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe worst problem with Nevada\u2019s election is they automatically mail a ballot to every active registrant on the voter roll, and that is just the worst way to run an election,\u201d Bis said. \u201cYou have to have almost completely, 100 percent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-plans-to-cut-100000-names-off-state-voter-rolls-in-major-list-maintenance-effort\/\" title=\"Georgia Plans To Cut 100,000 Names Off State Voter Rolls In \u2018Major List Maintenance Effort\u2019\">accurate voter rolls<\/a> if you\u2019re going to run an election in the mail. As evidenced by what we are seeing today, Nevada is going to be sending ballots to improper addresses and we\u2019re hoping to have that fixed before the 2024 presidential election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A close second challenge to election integrity has to be the state\u2019s polluted voter rolls. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.democracydocket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/12024-03-18-Complaint.pdf\">lawsuit<\/a> filed earlier this year by the Republican National Committee and the Nevada Republican Party alleges Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar, a Democrat, and five county election officials violated federal election law via \u201cinordinately high voter registration rates.\u201d In three counties, the lawsuit claims, registration rates exceed 100 percent of the total number of voting-eligible adults.  <\/p>\n<p>Democrats accuse Republicans of using inaccurate data in filing the complaint, which alleges the secretary of state failed to make \u201ca reasonable effort to remove the names of ineligible voters from the official lists of eligible voters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked about the nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/publicinterestlegal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/NV-2022G-Mail-Ballot-Rejects.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">96,000 ballots<\/a> automatically sent to undeliverable addresses in 2022, the secretary of state\u2019s office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kolotv.com\/2023\/04\/14\/nevada-secretary-state-champions-mail-in-ballots-despite-criticism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> KOLO in Reno that Nevada has a fairly large transient population. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Hard Evidence\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The Public Interest Legal Foundation recently filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/publicinterestlegal.org\/cases\/washoe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">petition<\/a> to force Washoe County officials to investigate and fix commercial addresses on the voter roll. In Washoe County, investigators found registered voters with addresses at liquor stores, empty lots, and even the Nevada Gaming Control Board. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPetitioners sought Respondent\u2019s compliance with state law regarding the accuracy of the statewide voter list through investigations of specific addresses for accuracy. Respondent has not acted,\u201d states the petition, filed in Nevada\u2019s 2nd Judicial District Court. \u201cPetitioners have no other remedy at law and herein seeks a writ of mandamus ordering Respondent to investigate possible commercial addresses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Foundation is representing Fred Kraus, a Nevada voter.<\/p>\n<p>PILF has been warning election officials about the problem since before the 2020 election, the law firm <a href=\"https:\/\/publicinterestlegal.org\/featured\/lawsuit-nevada-officials-need-to-investigate-and-fix-commercial-addresses-on-the-voter-roll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">says<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Washoe County elections officials did not return The Federalist\u2019s request for comment. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor years Nevada election officials have ignored hard evidence of commercial addresses on the voter roll,\u201d J. Christian Adams, president of PILF, <a href=\"https:\/\/publicinterestlegal.org\/featured\/lawsuit-nevada-officials-need-to-investigate-and-fix-commercial-addresses-on-the-voter-roll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> in a press release.\u00a0\u201cWe are asking the court to force Nevada election officials to investigate and resolve any improper commercial addresses on the voter roll. Nevada must have accurate voter rolls.
