Pelosi&#8217;s comments came in response to the release of new footage shot by her daughter, which showed her acknowledging responsibility for the security shortfall on January 6, 2021. Trump has \u2064claimed\u200b that \u2062Pelosi rejected his order for 10,000 troops to secure the\u2062 Capitol, which he argues could have prevented the violence. They know what happened that day, they know how serious it is and was, and continues to have an impact on our country, and yet they want to call the people who were in there hostages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi then claimed that Trump chose to not send in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/national-guard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>National Guard<\/a> \u201cfor hours\u201d and has since tried to deny that \u201cany of it happened.\u201d She proceeded to call for unity across the country to honor the founders of the United States.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2450622\/nancy-pelosi-hits-back-at-trump-for-blaming-her-for-jan-6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Trump previously stated in an interview<\/a> with NBC News\u2019s Kristen Welker last year that Pelosi was \u201cin charge of security\u201d and that she turned down security ahead of his rally on Jan. 6. Chip Roy (R-TX), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Thomas Massie (R-KY), sent a letter demanding that Attorney General Merrick Garland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3027232\/group-house-republicans-demands-detailed-account-every-jan-6-criminal-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>turn over a detailed account of every Jan. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/court-filings-20-federal-assets-embedded-at-capitol-on-jan-6\/\" title=\"Court Filings: 20 \u201cFederal Assets\u201d Embedded at Capitol on Jan 6\">6 criminal case<\/a><\/a>.
