Nonetheless, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-circuit-breaker-on-election-night\/\" title=\"The question looms: just how does it come to be that three quarters of Republican and nearly one third of Democrat voters all believe that the election was stolen from Trump?\">credited<\/a> his 10-year-old \u2064son\u2064 Eric with fundamentally changing his life and\u2063 enabling him to find happiness again.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Former \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d judge Simon Cowell credited his kid with saving him from a very dark time in his life after the reality star lost his parents and became what he called a \u201cridiculous workaholic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Speaking on \u201cThe <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Diary Of A CEO\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BvsbCdCG8gE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">podcast<\/a>, Cowell opened up about how his 10-year-old son Eric helped him get to a place where he could be \u201chappy again\u201d after Cowell said he had been on a \u201cdownward spiral\u201d following the loss of his mom in 2015 and his father years earlier, <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/simon-cowell-says-having-son-eric-without-question-saved-him-8660691\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">People magazine<\/a> reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI think particularly when I lost my mum, I was on a downward spiral at that point,\u201d Cowell told the host. \u201cI lost everyone, you know, I\u2019ve lost my parents. It\u2019s finality now. I just loved the intensity. It was almost like because of the loss I\u2019d had, I\u2019ve got to find something else to fill it. And it was I\u2019m just going to be a ridiculous workaholic, and I was very successful but I wasn\u2019t happy, I really, really wasn\u2019t happy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cowell, who tied the knot in 2013 with Lauren Silverman, recalled the day he got the call that she was pregnant. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhen I got the call from Lauren, which starts, any call that starts with, \u2018Are you sitting down?\u2019 You know what\u2018s coming next. It was like, \u2018Are you sitting down?\u2019 \u2018Yes,\u2019 \u2018Well,\u2019 and she told me. And yes it did absolutely change, it changed everything in my life,\u201d Cowell said. \u201cIt made me happy again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cFor me, it was perfect because like we were talking earlier about our childhoods, it was brilliant. Fantastic,\u201d he added. \u201cI remember the first time I watched \u2018Jungle Book\u2019 [with him] and I\u2019m looking over and seeing the joy he had watching that movie. It was like, oh my God I remember how I felt when I saw \u2018The Jungle Book.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When the host pressed the \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d judge if he would say his son \u201csaved him,\u201d Cowell replied, \u201cWithout question, without question.
