During the\u2064 question\u200d about Biden, Whitmer claimed \u2064to have connection issues, which some \u200dviewers \u2064speculated were deliberate, as evidenced by Whitmer looking off-camera at \u2062key moments. The\u2064 interview resumed after a break, but Whitmer avoided detailed comments on the trial, instead expressing confidence \u2062in the judicial system and contrasting President Biden\u2019s respect for the law with former President Trump, recently convicted of felony charges. Gretchen Whitmer proved over the weekend that her party will engage in whatever antics it needs to, even if that means dodging questions about Hunter Biden while hypocritically shredding former President Donald Trump as a \u201cconvicted felon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whitmer appeared on a segment of CNN\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/politics\/2024\/06\/09\/sotu-whitmer-full-interview.cnn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State of the Union<\/a>\u201d with Dana Bash on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/legal-expert-jonathan-turley-bad-news-bidens-hunters-trial-winds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden\u2019s felony trial<\/a> for allegedly lying on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ny-post-editorial-board-joe-biden-just-interfered-in-hunters-prosecution-on-national-tv\/\" title=\"NY Post Editorial Board: Joe Biden Just Interfered in Hunter\u2019s Prosecution on National TV\">federal gun form<\/a> that asked if he was addicted to drugs in 2018, the governor unconvincingly indicated she couldn\u2019t hear Bash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to turn to a different, very different trial, and that is one that is going on in Delaware with the president\u2019s son, Hunter Biden,\u201d the CNN host said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is on trial for obtaining and possessing a firearm while under the influence of illegal drugs, which was against the law,\u201d she continued. \u201cRepublican Lindsey Graham says that an average American would not have been prosecuted for this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whitmer interrupted her, saying, \u201cDana, are you there?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, governor, can you hear me?\u201d Bash said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOK, it sounds like the governor can\u2019t hear me,\u201d she said. \u201cYou know what? We\u2019re going to take a very quick commercial break and get this fixed, and we will be right back. He\u2019s not going to undermine it. And I think we will see how it plays out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, right now, we know that, in this country, there is a stark choice in front of us between a president who respects the rule of law and a former president who is a convicted felon, who wants to use the implements of government to go after his enemies, and is running on vengeance and grievance as his platform, versus the sitting president, who has delivered for this country and respects the judiciary and wants to shore up this democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-crucial-verdict-reached-trumps-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found guilty <\/a>of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in late May.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have been elated since the verdict and quick to label him a \u201cconvicted felon\u201d as their candidate \u2014 President Joe Biden \u2014 will need every ounce of help he can muster before the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/evils-sufferable-trump-verdict-2024-election-lessons-learned-1775-76\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">November<\/a> election.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, the left will bombard the presumptive Republican nominee with scorn and vitriol after a biased trial presided over by a judge who flaunted the law in the name of partisanship.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Hunter Biden\u2019s criminal trial has entered its second week \u2014 and this is not the end of his legal troubles, as his trial on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/antivirus-software-entrepreneur-john-mcafee-tries-to-halt-extradition-to-u-s-over-alleged-tax-crimes\/\" title=\"Antivirus software entrepreneur John McAfee tries to halt extradition to U.S. over alleged tax crimes\">tax evasion charges<\/a> is set to begin in September.<\/p>\n<p>While Joe Biden has publicly said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/even-jury-convicts-hunter-biden-got-get-jail-free-card\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he would not issue a presidential pardon<\/a> to his son, the left must try in earnest to protect Hunter Biden from scrutiny as his criminal behavior has a paper trail back to his father.<\/p>\n<p>This is where the left walks a hard line.<\/p>\n<p>With the conviction of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/europes-establishment-leftists-suffer-crushing-defeat-hands-right-incredible-news-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> and Hunter Biden\u2019s criminal activities under a microscope, criticism of the former will inevitably lead to questions about the latter.<\/p>\n<p>Logic ordains that if Trump is not above the law, neither is the Biden family.<\/p>\n<p>One method to address this problem is simply to pull a page from Whitmer\u2019s book and run away from it.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
