During an interview\u200c with Maria Bartiromo on &#8220;Sunday Morning Futures,&#8221; Abbott said that the \u2063order \u2064does\u2062 not provide any enforcement or blockage for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-73-of-voters-worried-about-migrants-spreading-covid-19\/\" title=\"Report: 73% of voters worried about migrants spreading COVID-19\">people crossing illegally<\/a> and in fact, \u2064it is making the problem worse. \u200bHe also emphasized \u2063that there is \u2064no slowing down of \u2062people crossing the border and that the order does not do anything \u2064to actually secure the border. In\u2064 addition, Abbott highlighted that the order authorizes more people to cross the border illegally and does not have any enforcement mechanisms\u2064 in place. The governor&#8217;s comments come amidst a surge of \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-recruiting-gop-senators-for-amnesty-deal\/\" title=\"Democrats Recruiting GOP Senators for Amnesty Deal\">illegal border crossings<\/a> and as the\u200b Biden administration faces criticism for its immigration policies.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) said during an interview over the weekend that President Joe Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-signs-weak-executive-order-to-address-his-border-crisis-after-claiming-he-couldnt-do-it\/\" title=\"Biden signs limited executive order to tackle border crisis, despite previous stance\">weak executive order<\/a> to secure the U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-desantis-announces-he-will-send-florida-law-enforcement-to-assist-at-border-blasts-biden-admin\/\" title=\"BREAKING: DeSantis Announces He Will Send Florida Law Enforcement To Assist At Border, Blasts Biden Admin\">southern border makes<\/a> the problem even worse and that it solves nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Abbott made the remarks during a Sunday interview with Maria Bartiromo on \u201cSunday Morning Futures\u201d when asked about the controversial executive order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs long as the Biden administration refuses to provide any type of enforcement, any type of blockage of people crossing illegally, all that this new Biden policy is going to do is to actually attract and invite even more people to cross the border illegally,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no slowing down of people crossing the border,\u201d he continued. \u201cIn fact, it\u2019s just accelerating. This is gaslighting our fellow Americans. When Biden gets up and says, \u2018This is going to stop people from coming across the border,\u2019 when he says, \u2018It\u2019s going to secure the border,\u2019 in fact, it is making illegal border crossings worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abbott said that the order does not do \u201canything to actually secure the border \u2014 in fact, it\u2019s the opposite, because he\u2019s actually authorizing more people to cross the border illegally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you get to that 2,500 number of people crossing the border a day that he says he will allow, but only then stop the asylum process \u2014 when he stops the asylum process, there\u2019s nothing that Biden is doing that actually is preventing anybody else from crossing the border,\u201d he added. \u201cThere\u2019s no type of enforcement mechanism in place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Texas Governor Greg Abbott criticized President Joe Biden&#8217;s executive order on U.S. southern border security during a &#8220;Sunday Morning Futures&#8221; interview with Maria Bartiromo.
