This\u2064 journalist had previously written for \u2063Al Jazeera. The hostages, who \u200cwere all Israeli citizens, had been kidnapped by\u2063 Palestinian militants and held captive for several months. The Israeli military, \u2062with the help of intelligence\u200b gathered \u2063by the Shin Bet security agency, launched a\u200d surprise\u2064 operation to rescue the hostages and bring them back to Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The journalist whose home was raided by the Israeli\u2063 military has not been publicly identified, but it is known that he had written for Al Jazeera \u200cin the past. Al \u200bJazeera is a Qatar-based news network that has faced criticism\u200b from Israel for its \u200ccoverage of the conflict in \u200dthe region. Aljamal had written for Al Jazeera as recently as 2019 \u2014 although the outlet has said that he was never an employee \u2014 and had since been writing for The Palestine Chronicle and serving as spokesman for Gaza\u2019s Hamas-controlled labor ministry.<\/p>\n<p>An initial report from Ramy Abdu \u2014 founder and chairman of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor \u2014 claimed that Israeli soldiers had raided Aljamal\u2019s home and killed him along with several members of his family.<\/p>\n<p>Israel has confirmed that Aljamal was killed in the Saturday special forces raid that rescued hostages Almog Meir Jan, 21, Andri Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 41 \u2014 but made no mention of his family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is further proof that the Hamas terrorist organization uses the civilian population as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mcconnell-rips-trump-after-casting-not-guilty-vote-practically-and-morally-responsible\/\" title=\"McConnell Rips Trump After Casting \u2018Not Guilty\u2019 Vote: \u2018Practically And Morally Responsible\u2019\">human shield<\/a>,\u201d the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement after special forces rescued the hostages from Aljamal\u2019s home in Nuseirat \u2014 which was located near a refugee camp.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth hostage who was rescued during Saturday\u2019s operations was 26-year-old Noa Argamani, who recounted several instances during her eight months in captivity when she believed she was going to die.<\/p>\n<p>When she first arrived in Gaza, after being snatched off the street at the Nova music festival, she said that she expected to be lynched.
