According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksl.com\/article\/51037256\/stunning-photos-show-catastrophic-failure-of-wyomings-teton-pass\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KSL-TV<\/a> in Salt Lake City<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksl.com\/article\/51037256\/stunning-photos-show-catastrophic-failure-of-wyomings-teton-pass\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">,<\/a> the road dropped eight inches in some places. Safety is our utmost priority, and we ask that recreationists and curious residents avoid the area until it can be stabilized,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/governormarkgordon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook post<\/a> that there is no estimate of when the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/firefighters-pull-off-successful-rescue-beloved-family-member-6-days-mudslide\/\"> road<\/a> will be reopened.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Have you ever driven through the Rocky Mountains?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis morning I met with state officials from the Wyoming Department of Transportation and Wyoming Office of Homeland Security to coordinate a response to the catastrophic landslide that has closed Teton Pass,\u201d he wrote Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am grateful for the efforts of WYDOT staff to protect public safety during this developing situation, and am thankful no one was injured during this incident,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this point, we do not have an estimated timeline for the road to reopen. I recognize the impacts this closure has to Teton County residents, regional commuters and the local economy, and we are in direct communication with local officials.
