However, the\u200d date chosen \u2062by Republican Chairman Jim Jordan\u2063 does not work for \u200dBragg&#8217;s schedule and there may be \u2062conflicts with ongoing proceedings and orders \u2063in the case. Bragg&#8217;s \u2062counsel states that they are \u200dcommitted to\u2064 cooperation and suggests setting a date after June 15 for\u2062 Bragg \u2062to testify. \u2064The hearing intends to examine rel=\"noopener\">Alvin Bragg<\/a> has agreed to testify before the House about his hush-money case against former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a>, who was found guilty last month, but not on the date picked by Judiciary Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/jim-jordan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jim Jordan<\/a> (R-OH).<\/p>\n<p>Bragg\u2019s counsel sent a letter to Jordan on Friday responding to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lawofruby\/status\/1799136396650709399\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">invitations<\/a> dated May 31 that sought testimony from Bragg and Matthew Colangelo, one of the prosecutors on Bragg\u2019s team, for a hearing on June 13 held by the Weaponization of the Federal Government Subcommittee.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing is intended to \u201cexamine actions by state and local prosecutors to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-vow-lawfare-revenge-after-trumps-guilty-verdict\/\" title=\"Republicans promise legal retaliation following Trump's guilty verdict\">engage politically motivated prosecutions<\/a> of federal officials, in particular the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-vow-to-strike-back-against-democrats-after-trump-verdict\/\" title=\"Republicans pledge retaliation against Democrats following Trump's verdict\">recent political prosecution<\/a> of President Donald Trump by the Manhattan District Attorney\u2019s Office,\u201d Jordan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Office is committed to voluntary cooperation,\u201d said General Counsel Lesli Dubeck. \u201cThat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bragg-requests-new-date-for-trump-hush-money-trial-testimony\/\" title=\"Bragg seeks to reschedule Trump's hush money trial testimony\">cooperation includes making<\/a> the District Attorney available to provide testimony on behalf of the Office at an agreed-upon date.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bragg\u2019s office is \u201cevaluating the propriety of allowing an Assistant District Attorney to testify publicly about an active prosecution to which he is assigned,\u201d Dubeck added.<\/p>\n<p>Dubeck wrote that June 13 presents scheduling conflicts, noting there are still proceedings and orders in the case that remain, and said Jordan\u2019s invitations did not make clear the \u201cscope\u201d of the proposed testimony.<\/p>\n<p>Bragg\u2019s office \u201crequests an opportunity to engage with Committee staff to identify a new hearing date, and to better understand the scope and the purpose of the proposed hearing,\u201d Dubeck <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lawofruby\/status\/1799187171980517812\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Jordan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2024\/06\/07\/congress\/bragg-testify-jordan-house-gop-republicans-00162376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told POLITICO<\/a> that \u201ceverything is on the table\u201d when determining next steps.<\/p>\n<p>Jurors returned a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/verdict-trump-found-guilty-on-all-charges-in-hush-money-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guilty verdict<\/a> against Trump on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to allegedly cover up a tryst with adult film star Stormy Daniels as part of a \u201ccatch-and-kill\u201d scheme to influence the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, who denied the affair and pleaded not guilty to the charges, said he would be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/white-house-race-plunges-into-uncharted-territory-trump-awaits-july-sentencing-2024-05-31\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cappealing this scam<\/a>.\u201d Bragg praised the jury and said his team followed \u201cthe facts and the law without fear or favor.\u201d Sentencing is scheduled for July 11.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan has also <a former official in the Department of Justice under the Biden administration, from New York Attorney General Letitia James and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/jim-jordan-proposes-defunding-prosecutors-in-trump-cases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposed<\/a> that to defund the prosecutors who are taking on Trump in court battles that the former president \u2014 who is seeking re-election \u2014 and his allies claim are politically
