These charges stem from a grand jury&#8217;s investigation into the attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 elections. Meadows pleaded not guilty on Friday, six \u2063weeks after being indicted along with other\u2063 individuals involved in the incident.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_79\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/mark-meadows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Mark Meadows<\/a>, a former Trump White House chief of staff, pleaded not guilty to nine felony charges Friday in <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/arizona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Arizona<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The plea comes six weeks after Meadows and others were indicted by a grand jury for their alleged efforts to overturn the results of the <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2020-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2020 presidential election<\/a> in the state, which Democrat Joe Biden won by just over 10,000 votes.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/michigan-attorney-general-wants-opponent-investigated-over-2020-election-claims\/\" title=\"Michigan Attorney General Wants Opponent Investigated Over 2020 Election Claims\">charges include conspiracy<\/a>, fraud, and forgery in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2024\/05\/20\/full-unredacted-copy-arizona-fake-electors-indictment-released\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>indictment<\/a> that alleges Trump campaign members submitted names of fake electors to subvert Biden\u2019s victory. Meadows also is alleged to have \u201cconfided in a White House staff member in early November 2020 that [then-President Donald Trump] had lost the election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meadows has also pleaded not guilty in the Georgia 2020 election case, in which Trump was also indicted. When that indictment was handed down, Meadows became the second White House chief of staff to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/belarusian-authorities-raid-homes-and-offices-of-journalists-and-activists\/\" title=\"Belarusian Authorities Raid Homes And Offices Of Journalists And Activists\">face criminal charges<\/a>, joining Bob Haldeman, who was convicted of conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and perjury for his role in the Watergate scandal.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Roman, who was Trump\u2019s director of Election Day operations in 2020, also pleaded not guilty to the charges in Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMike Roman has no connection with Arizona,\u201d Roman attorney Kurt Altman told reporters outside the Maricopa County Superior Courthouse. \u201cWhy this indictment came in the first place is beyond us, but we\u2019re going to face the reality and defend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Others charged in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-commuting-his-sentence-ca-gov-newsom-reverses-parole-for-convicted-double-murderer\/\" title=\"After Commuting His Sentence, CA Gov.
