So that\u2019s just what it was,\u201d Carter said then.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeat of the moment play. We\u2019re getting at it. We\u2019re getting back and forth. It\u2019s basketball. It\u2019s all hoops. People are competitive, it is what it is. She is having a tremendous season, she is playing great basketball,\u201d she said Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Clark said the game is what matters to her, not hyped grudges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is just not where my focus is. I think about my team, I think about ways that I can get better and it\u2019s just basketball at the end of the day,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are no grudges, there is nothing like that. It\u2019s a sport, it\u2019s competitive, it is not going to be nice all the time. That\u2019s not what basketball is and I think that people who play the sport at the highest level understand that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday night, Clark let her shooting do the talking, as she notched seven 3-pointers en route to a game-high 30 points as the Fever defeated the Washington Mystic 85-83.<\/p>\n<p>Clark afterward said she was as pleased with the size of the crowd as she was with her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-caitlin-clark-shakes-off-cheap-shot-controversy-breaks-wnba-record-sensational-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe crowds never get old; they\u2019re great,\u201d Clark said, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/story\/_\/id\/40302422\/clark-sinks-record-tying-seven-3s-nets-30-total-fever-win\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESPN<\/a>. \u201cI think at times they might have been cheering for us. It\u2019s fun to see people in Fever gear.
