There\u2019s one name that matters in the WNBA during the 2024 season, as much as cultural warriors might want to convince you otherwise. And understanding, yeah, negative things have probably been said about me, but honestly, I\u2019ll take that because look where women\u2019s basketball is.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are talking about women\u2019s basketball, but you never would think that people would be talking about women\u2019s basketball. People are pulling up to games, we got celebrities coming to games, sold out arenas, just because of one single game,\u201d Reese said, referencing her battles with Clark during their time in college.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd just looking at that, I\u2019ll take that role. I\u2019ll take the \u2018bad guy\u2019 role, and I\u2019ll continue to take that on and be that for my teammates. And I know I\u2019ll go down in history,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-angel-reese-throws-jab-caitlin-clark-cheap-shot-backlash-go-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">she added<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ll look back in 20 years and be like, \u2018the reason why we watching women\u2019s basketball is not just because of one person, it\u2019s because of me, too,\u2019 and I want y\u2019all to realize that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alas, college is college, and this is the pros. Nasty fouls and prime players cheering those fouls on aren\u2019t good looks. The whole situation looks doubly bad when you look at how Reese performed against the same hapless Mystic team. Reese scored 16 points and notched 11 rebounds and 3 assists, which doesn\u2019t look bad on the surface \u2014 until you realize she shot a putrid 29 percent from the field. Clark managed to score 30 points with 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while almost doubling Reese\u2019s efficiency by shooting 53 percent from the field.<\/p>\n<p>Last week\u2019s news was the kerfuffle between Clark, Carter and Reese. This week, it\u2019s all Clark. But, please, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wnba-scrambles-deal-angel-reese-ejection-controversy-takes-next-step\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Angel<\/a> \u2014 do tell us how you\u2019ll go down in history.
