Saulin is known for \u2064his part\u2064 in legal efforts to tidy up\u2062 legal disputes involving Dominion Voting Systems, which he and\u2062 his organization have called a \u201cstand-up outfit.\u201d The federal \u200cDepartment of Justice recently \u200ddropped a case against Saulin and Fred Hearn, obstructing the department\u2019s investigation into Ukrainian activities into election-related election matters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Georgia:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Friday\u2019s indictment, Georgia Attorney General Willis filed nine criminal charges against 18 individuals associated with Trump\u2019s 2020 campaign, its \u200ccommittees, and the former president\u2019s legal team. The\u200d indictment in \u200cthe\u200c Fulton County Superior Court\u2063 charges Donald Trump, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/adam-kinzinger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Adam Kinzinger<\/a>, and former Trump advisers \u200bcontesting the\u2064 2020 election as January 6\u2064 \u201calt. \u200belectors.\u201d Trump is charged with racketeering, bribery, obstruction of justice, falsification of records, and scheming to undermine the U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>In the\u200d midst of the 2024 election season, former US President\u2063 Donald Trump and some\u200c of his\u2063 closest allies are \u200cfacing a series of\u200d criminal charges. In Arizona, two former Trump aides\u2064 pleaded not guilty \u200bto nine \u2062felony counts related to a conspiracy to send alternate\u2064 electors to Washington,\u2064 D.C. \u200dto contest Joe Biden&#8217;s victory in the state. In\u200b Georgia, nine defendants, including Trump and members of his campaign,\u200d were charged with racketeering, bribery, and other offenses. \u2064In \u2064Wisconsin, three men \u2062have been \u200ccharged with attempting to overturn the state&#8217;s election results. Additionally, two former\u200b Trump\u2063 advisors are currently imprisoned for defying subpoenas\u2064 related \u200cto the January \u20646th Capitol insurrection. Republicans have \u200dcriticized these charges \u200bas politically-motivated, while Democrats \u200dmaintain they are simply\u2062 following the\u200c facts. As the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scotus-rules-in-texas-pro-life-cases-abortion-providers-can-sue-state-doj-challenge-dismissed-law-can-remain-in-effect\/\" title=\"SCOTUS Rules In Texas Pro-Life Cases: Abortion Providers Can Sue State, DOJ Challenge Dismissed, Law Can Remain In Effect\">legal battles continue<\/a>, Trump \u2064maintains his innocence and continues\u2063 to pursue \u2064a delay in trials until after the\u200d upcoming election.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Top allies of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> are facing unprecedented indictments in at least five states as the former president fights off his own slate of four criminal cases in the heat of the 2024 election season.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, former White House chief of staff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/mark-meadows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Mark Meadows<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2816430\/who-is-mike-roman-trump-defendant-raised-fani-willis-concerns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Mike Roman<\/a>, a former member of Trump\u2019s campaign team, appeared virtually in Arizona court for a state case to enter \u201cnot guilty\u201d pleas to nine felony counts, including conspiracy and forgery. Meadows and Roman were among 18 people an Arizona grand jury indicted in April, which alleges 11 state Republicans and seven Trump aides conspired to send alternate electors to Washington, D.C., to contest President Joe Biden\u2019s narrow victory in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes announced the indictment on April 24. Meanwhile, three other defendants in the Arizona case, including state Republican James Lemon and former Trump attorneys Jenna Ellis and Boris Ephsteyn, are slated to be arraigned on June 18.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the week, three men, two of whom are Trump\u2019s co-defendants in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Georgia<\/a> case, were charged with attempts to overturn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/wisconsin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Wisconsin<\/a>\u2018s 2020 election results. But unlike the Georgia case, Wisconsin Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul filed the felony without using a grand jury, making it one of the most openly partisan indictments against pro-Trump allies thus far.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur approach has been focused on following the facts where they lead,\u201d Kaul said at a news conference on Tuesday when he announced three Trump allies were each charged with one count of \u201cforgery,\u201d a felony. In response to Kaul\u2019s case, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) called it \u201coutrageous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow Democrats are weaponizing Wisconsin\u2019s judiciary,\u201d Johnson posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. \u201cApparently conservative lawyers advising clients is illegal under Democrat tyranny. The decision came just one day after setting a tentative hearing in early October on Trump and eight other defendants\u2019 effort to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over an alleged conflict of interest by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/radical-cultural-change-coming-to-america\/\" title=\"Radical Cultural Change Coming to America?\">district attorney<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The sheer volume of cases brought by Democrats, or by a Justice Department under a Democratic administration, against Trump and his allies have fueled Republican claims of a weaponized legal system.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the Democrats in five states that have brought similar \u201cfake electors\u201d indictments, federal prosecutors have brought unrelated charges against at least two former Trump administration advisers who are now either currently imprisoned or may be looking at prison time in the future. A judge on Thursday ordered former Trump administration adviser and <em>War Room <\/em>podcast host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3030686\/steve-bannon-ordered-to-surrender-prison-sentence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Steve Bannon<\/a> to surrender himself by July 1 to begin serving a four-month sentence for defying a subpoena from the now-defunct House Jan. 6 committee. Trump\u2019s former trade adviser <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/peter-navarro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Peter Navarro<\/a> is in a Miami prison for a similar offense after he was denied appellate court and Supreme Court relief.<\/p>\n<p>Bannon told reporters outside the federal district courthouse in Washington, D.C., on Thursday that he has \u201cgreat lawyers, and we\u2019re going to go all the way to the Supreme Court if we have to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bannon, who gained widespread attention as the former editor at <em>Breitbart <\/em>and now retains tens of thousands of viewers on his daily podcast show, said, \u201cThere\u2019s not a prison built or jail built that will ever shut me up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bannon attorney David Schoen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3006007\/steve-bannon-prison-sentence-only-strengthen-maga-base-attorney\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>previously told<\/a> the <em>Washington Examiner <\/em>that imprisoning the <em>War Room <\/em>host would backfire politically and that \u201cit should tremendously strengthen the base.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump posted to his Truth Social platform in solidarity with Bannon on Thursday afternoon, saying federal prosecutors looked \u201cdesperate\u201d trying to imprison Bannon.<\/p>\n<p>The developments in this array of criminal cases against Trump\u2019s allies follow the former president\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-guilty-former-presidents-inner-circle-reacts-to-bull-verdict\/\" title=\"Trump Found Guilty: Inner Circle Responds to Verdict\">recent guilty conviction<\/a> by a 12-member jury on 34 counts of falsifying business records in New York.<\/p>\n<p>The office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg this week urged Judge Juan Merchan to keep a gag order limiting some of Trump\u2019s speech imposed on the former president through his July 11 sentencing. The judge\u2019s chosen date for Trump\u2019s sentencing has also caused concern among Republicans, as Trump\u2019s nomination for the presidency will happen just days afterward. Trump\u2019s lawyers have also argued that the gag order could affect the 2024 presidential candidate as he and incumbent Biden prepare for their first debate on June 27.<\/p>\n<p>But while the Georgia case looks now looks unlikely to head to trial before 2025, Trump still faces two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/majority-of-voters-believe-trump-committed-a-crime-but-less-than-one-third-of-republicans\/\" title=\"believe Trump committed a crime, according to polls.\">federal cases brought<\/a> by special counsel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jack-smith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Jack Smith<\/a>: one that accuses him of attempting to subvert the 2020 election that is being litigated in Washington, D.C., and a separate case accusing him of hoarding classified documents and seeking to block government efforts to retrieve those records.<\/p>\n<p>The 2020 election case in Washington, D.C., is paused pending a potentially landmark Supreme Court decision later this month that asked the justices to determine whether Trump has immunity from Smith\u2019s indictment, and U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has been moving slowly to bring the documents case to trial, in part because she is seriously considering Trump\u2019s constitutional challenges to the indictment as well as his argument that Smith was improperly appointed by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has pleaded not guilty to each indictment he faces as he seeks to delay trials in the other three criminal cases ahead of the Nov. 5 election.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a look at the different cases against Trump allies:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wisconsin:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kaul this week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3027262\/democratic-ag-files-new-charges-against-trump-allies-wisconsin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>filed charges<\/a> against former Trump attorney Kenneth Chesebro, attorney and former judge James Troupis, and Roman following media reports dating back to December about a criminal investigation in the state. Chesebro has been cooperative in the probe, in addition to his guilty plea in the Georgia RICO case. Additionally, state GOP officials have resolved a civil case requiring the alternate electors to withdraw their slate and publicly acknowledge Biden\u2019s victory in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arizona:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In April, 18 Trump allies were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3012240\/giuliani-plead-not-guilty-arizona-election-interference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>indicted<\/a> on charges relating to a post-2020 plan to assemble alternate electors, including former Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani, Ellis, John Eastman, and Christina Bobb, along with Roman and Meadows.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Georgia:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Willis indicted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3031877\/trump-georgia-after-case-stalled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>19 people on 41 charges<\/a> related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election. This group includes Trump, Giuliani, and others involved in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wisconsin-ag-files-phony-fake-elector-charges-anyway-after-admitting-gop-plan-was-legal\/\" title=\"Wisconsin Attorney General Pursues Charges Against 'Fake Electors' Despite GOP's Legal Actions\">alternate electors plan<\/a>. Four defendants, including attorney Chesebro, who was accused of helping plan the alternate electors scheme, have since taken plea deals. Several alternate electors secured immunity deals before charges were filed.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Michigan:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In July, Michigan Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel announced charges for 16 GOP officials who acted as alternate electors after the 2020 election with felonies. One defendant\u2019s charges were dropped in October following a cooperation deal with prosecutors. Trump was labeled an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/2978556\/trump-unindicted-co-conspirator-michigan-fake-electors-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>\u201cunindicted co-conspirator\u201d<\/a> in the investigation, though he has not been charged.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nevada:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A grand jury in Nevada <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2443142\/nevada-gop-chairman-among-six-charged-in-2020-fake-electors-plot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>indicted six Republicans<\/a> alleged to be responsible for the state\u2019s alternate slate of electors in December.
