The $9\u2062 billion project\u2064 was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-demands-russia-and-ukraine-to-attain-agreement-to-end-war\/\" title=\"Trump Demands Russia and Ukraine to attain Agreement to End War\">initially praised<\/a> but is now causing\u200b problems for many \u200chomeowners. Despite Dominion Energy&#8217;s attempts to address the concerns, residents are \u2064still struggling and feeling \u200cmisled about \u200bthe project&#8217;s \u2064impact. Additionally, the turbines\u200b will be visible from the\u2064 shore, something that was \u2064not mentioned when \u2064the \u200bproject was\u2063 originally sold to the community. \u2064The \u200cWestern Journal is seeking support \u200cto continue fighting against the elites \u200dand Big Tech\u200c to expose the truth about this and other \u200dimportant issues facing America.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>  <\/p>\n<h2>After Being &#8216;Misled&#8217; by Appearance of Wind Turbines, Seaside Residents Awake to Nightmare as Houses Begin to Shake<\/h2>\n<p> <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/%20\"><span>Jack Davis<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 7, 2024 at 1:57pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>A wind turbine project off the coast of Virginia Beach, Virginia, is whipping up some trouble for local homeowners.<\/p>\n<p>Dominion Energy is in the process of developing a 176-turbine project off the coast of the vacation community.<\/p>\n<p>But residents say the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/not-green-wind-turbine-bursts-flames-will-likely-left-burn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">project<\/a> is not making life any better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s interfering with our lives every day\u20142 a.m. the other morning, I was awoken by the room shaking,\u201d Julie Brown of Virginia Beach said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtkr.com\/news\/in-the-community\/virginia-beach\/dominion-energy-addresses-croatan-residents-concerns-about-loud-noises-in-wind-turbine-project-construction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WTKR-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn\u2019t the noise, it was the shaking,\u201d Brown added. \u201cYou think is there an earthquake. I go over and look out the window and can see the lights and they\u2019re working on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dominion Energy officials have said they will try to keep the noise down as the $9 billion project moves forward, telling residents in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/canadian-parliament-declares-chinas-treatment-of-uyghurs-genocide-as-biden-remains-silent\/\" title=\"Canadian Parliament Declares China\u2019s Treatment Of Uyghurs \u2018Genocide\u2019 As Biden Remains Silent\">recent town hall<\/a> they were working on ways to blanker of buffer the noise.<\/p>\n<p>Brown says it\u2019s not working.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe wind blanket right now is a joke,\u201d Brown said. \u201cThere\u2019s a wind blanket. It\u2019s literally like a piece of paper hanging.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Homeowner John Knight said he has installed soundproofing on his bedroom window, and has to deal with a crack in a wall he blames on the project, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtkr.com\/news\/in-the-community\/virginia-beach\/dominion-holds-meeting-with-croatan-community-ahead-of-construction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WTKR-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Would you want wind power in your community?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been having a lot of problems in the neighborhood with houses shaking, walls cracking, tiles cracking,\u201d Knight said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the project is nothing but \u201c24-hour-a-day work that\u2019s waking us up at night. We\u2019re really worried about the long-term damage to our home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDominion is trying to mitigate this disruption,\u201d Virginia Beach Vice Mayor Rosemary Wilson said. \u201cI called Dominion and said, \u201924\/7, are you kidding? That\u2019s too much for anybody to take.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the noise is not all. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tx-wind-turbine-struck-lighting-turns-spinning-wheel-fire-disintegrates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new turbines<\/a> will be visible from the shore, which residents have said was not in the cards when the project was sold as a great idea, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wavy.com\/news\/local-news\/virginia-beach\/some-say-they-felt-misled-after-it-was-revealed-dominions-wind-turbines-could-be-seen-from-virginia-beach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WAVY-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Citizens] feel misled,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cThey didn\u2019t know you\u2019d be able to see the turbines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe citizens and us as leaders felt misled by Dominion \u2026 about the appearance of the wind turbines,\u201d Councilman Worth Remick said.<\/p>\n<p>Although Dominion has had turbines in the region for years as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/people-turbine-powered-grid-get-shocking-notice-wind-stops-blowing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pilot project<\/a>, the new ones are 200 feet taller, a detail that WAVY reported was not fully spelled out to the community.<\/p>\n<p>It noted that a 2018 comment from Dominion Energy said the turbines \u201cwill not be visible from the Virginia Beach shoreline.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Project representative Jeremy Slayton said residents were told the pilot turbines were shorter than the ones for the full project, but when WAVY noted that the visibility issue was not linked to the height issue, \u201cSlayton did not point to any specific presentation where visibility was addressed outside the pilot turbines.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
