I was there\u200c linking the past to the present,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>A bipartisan group of House representatives, who are all veterans, participated in a \u200cplane jump in Normandy, France to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the \u200chistoric invasion \u2064that marked the end of\u200d World War II. \u200cLed\u200c by Reps. Mike Waltz and Jason Crow, the group of\u2063 10 congressmen paid tribute to US and Allied veterans by jumping \u2062from a vintage C-47 Skytrain onto \u2064the Norman \u200cbocage. Rep. Crow had also participated in a similar jump for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-kevin-mccarthy-calls-out-democrats-anti-semitic-comments\/\" title=\"VIDEO: McCarthy Condemns Democrats' Anti-Semitic Remarks\">75th \u200danniversary<\/a>. Cory Mills, who jumped \u200bin honor of a World War II paratrooper, described the experience as amazing and a way \u2063to link the past \u2062to \u200dthe\u200c present.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A bipartisan <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-of-representatives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>House<\/a> delegation participated in a plane jump Friday morning to commemorate the 80th anniversary of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/d-day-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>D-Day<\/a>, the historic invasion that led to the end of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/world-war-II\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>World War II<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The group, visiting Normandy, <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/france\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>France<\/a>, for the anniversary, comprised 10 congressmen, all veterans themselves, and led by Reps. Mike Waltz (R-FL) and Jason Crow (D-CO). Reps. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) and Cory Mills (R-FL) are among those who participated to honor both U.S. and Allied <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/veterans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>veterans<\/a> and troops. The lawmakers jumped from a vintage C-47 Skytrain and onto the Norman bocage.<\/p>\n<p>Both Crow and Waltz <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/wireStory\/members-congress-commemorate-day-parachute-jump-normandy-110918566\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>participated<\/a> in a similar jump for the 75th anniversary. Crow served in the Army\u2019s 82nd Airborne Division and 75th Ranger Regiment, and Waltz, the first Green Beret to be elected to Congress, served 27 years in the Army and National Guard before retiring during his second term in Congress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think to really do something that is notable that, you know, maybe young people will pay attention to and go, \u2018Wow, that\u2019s exciting and cool,\u2019 to kind of pass on their legacy is worthwhile,\u201d Waltz told ABC News.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>House GOP members pose for a photo in Normandy, France.
