The conservative podcaster was ordered to report to prison on July 1, just two weeks before the Republican National Convention (RNC) and four months before Election Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s not a prison built or jail built that will ever shut me up,\u201d Bannon <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/steve-bannon-contempt-jan-6-committee-prison-2da50bcf2f8ff8f3e01ef4bf2b1b845e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> reporters outside of the courthouse Thursday, stating that he plans to appeal \u201call the way to the Supreme Court if we have to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bannon was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/07\/23\/steve-bannon-jail-donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">convicted <\/a>two years ago for refusal to comply with a subpoena issued by the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/11\/10\/j6-committee-misleading-witnesses-about-republican-staff-presence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">illegally established<\/a> House Select Committee on Jan. 6 as part of lawmakers\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/10\/the-j6-inquisition-is-an-obvious-soviet-style-show-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Soviet-style inquisition<\/a> last Congress. A federal appeals court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/05\/10\/steve-bannon-conviction-appeals-court-uphold\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rejected<\/a> an appeal last month, and now Bannon is expected to join former Trump Trade Advisor Peter Navarro behind bars. Navarro was similarly convicted of contempt of Congress last year and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/justice-department\/ex-trump-adviser-peter-navarro-reports-prison-contempt-congress-convic-rcna144043\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">began<\/a> a four-month sentence in March at a detention facility in Miami.<\/p>\n<p>Bannon\u2019s indictment was the first act for U.S. District Attorney Matthew Graves, who, according to court documents posted on X by Julie Kelly, complained about Bannon mocking members of the Jan. 6 Committee \u201cthrough offensive name calling.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>In his first act as US Atty for DC, Biden appointee Matthew Graves indicted Steve Bannon for contempt.<\/p>\n<p>This is what Graves wrote in DOJ sentencing memo asking for 6 months in prison and a $200,000 fine for the Honey Badger: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uDYBm7JJjr\">pic.twitter.com\/uDYBm7JJjr<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u2014 Julie Kelly \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@julie_kelly2) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/julie_kelly2\/status\/1798807440970138088?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 6, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>While Democrats exploit the judicial system to imprison chief political opponents ahead of the November contest, including the host of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itunescharts.net\/us\/artists\/podcast\/warroomorg\/podcasts\/bannons-war-room\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">top<\/a> conservative podcast nationwide, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has cracked down on The Epoch Times with the Monday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdny\/pr\/chief-financial-officer-multinational-media-company-charged-participating-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indictment<\/a> of the paper\u2019s chief financial officer. Weidong \u201cBill\u201d Guan was arrested Sunday and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/what-become-epoch-times-chief-financial-officer-accused-money-laundering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pled not guilty<\/a> in a federal courtroom this week to charges in a $67 million money laundering scheme. Federal prosecutors said Guan\u2019s team leveraged cryptocurrency to \u201cknowingly purchase tens of millions of dollars in crime proceeds, including proceeds of fraudulently obtained unemployment insurance benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whether Guan is convicted will ultimately be up to a New York jury, but if Trump\u2019s recent Manhattan \u201chush money\u201d trial is any indication of Guan\u2019s fate, the Epoch Times CFO will be assumed guilty until proven innocent before a far-left jury pool. Last month Trump was hastily <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/31\/guilty-trump-verdict-will-keep-good-people-from-running-for-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">convicted<\/a> on all 34 felony charges of falsifying business records because he labeled payments to an attorney as legal expenses. Guan will now spend the remaining five months before the election fighting off federal charges as the Democrats escalate the lawfare campaign against political opponents.<\/p>\n<p>Sidelining dissident speech while keeping Trump and his campaign surrogates in prison and court has become a primary strategy for Democrats desperate to maintain control of the Oval Office this fall. <\/p>\n<p>Censorship also remains a centerpiece of that strategy after public-private efforts to suppress conservative speech played a pivotal role in propelling Joe Biden to the White House four years ago. In 2022, One America News Network (OANN) was <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/31\/republican-senators-demand-answers-about-directtvs-attempt-to-cancel-right-leaning-news-network-oan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dropped <\/a>by one of the channel\u2019s top distributors, DirectTV. Later this month, the Supreme Court will rule on the permissibility of the federal government\u2019s scope of authority to implement a censorship regime in the landmark lawsuit\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/15\/free-speech-depends-on-scotus-rejecting-the-governments-censorship-excuses-in-murthy-v-missouri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Murthy v.
