American voters \u2063are outraged, doubting\u200c its impact on border security and\u2064 criticizing Biden \u200cfor prioritizing political gain.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>President Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\/status\/1798078683045146896\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">issued<\/a> an executive order this week, claiming it would restrict migrants from claiming asylum if they cross the U.S. border illegally and would help \u201cgain control of our border.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>American voters shouldn\u2019t be fooled. Instead, they have at least three reasons to be furious with the President\u2019s EO.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1932935210\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6a8ae6dc3b3f0373dd013e7658717d5b fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6a8ae6dc3b3f0373dd013e7658717d5b\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It\u2019s Biden\u2019s Fault<\/h2>\n<p>First, let\u2019s not forget it was Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EndWokeness\/status\/1798080650907627962\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201copen border\u201d<\/a> policies that created the unprecedented border crisis. On day one of becoming president, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/01\/20\/proclamation-termination-of-emergency-with-respect-to-southern-border-of-united-states-and-redirection-of-funds-diverted-to-border-wall-construction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> an order to terminate former President Donald Trump\u2019s declaration of a national emergency concerning our southern border. Biden\u2019s EO also paused the construction of the border wall and redirected the funds elsewhere. <\/p>\n<p>On day two, Biden suspended Trump\u2019s \u201cRemain in Mexico\u201d program and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/06\/01\/politics\/immigration-remain-in-mexico\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ended the program formally<\/a> six months later. The \u201cRemain in Mexico\u201d program kept in Mexico asylum-seekers from Central America and elsewhere until their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/25-asylum-seekers-granted-u-s-entry-under-biden\/\" title=\"25 asylum seekers granted U.S. entry under Biden\">immigration court hearings<\/a> in the U.S. The program successfully returned an estimated 68,000 migrants to Mexico during the Trump presidency.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration also relinquished its responsibility to enforce immigration law. According to a 2023 House Judiciary Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/new-data-reveal-biden-administrations-failure-remove-over-99-released-illegal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a>, \u201cthe Biden Department of Homeland Security\u00a0(DHS) has failed to remove more than 99 percent of illegal aliens through immigration court proceedings\u201d between Jan. 20, 2021, and March 31, 2023. During this period, there were more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/over-99-percent-of-border-encounters-under-biden-result-in-no-deportations-house-report\/\" title=\"House report: Less than 1% of border encounters under Biden lead to deportations.\">5 million illegal alien encounters<\/a>. The Biden administration reportedly \u201ceased its scrutiny in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/homeland-security-official-who-handled-asylum-claims-on-leave-after-her-role-in-palestinian-organization-resurfaces\/\" title=\"Homeland Security Official on Leave Over Ties to Palestinian Organization\">reviewing asylum claims<\/a>,\u201d and \u201cimmigration judges have granted nearly 80% of claims in the last three years.\u201d Fewer than 6,000 illegal immigrants were removed from the United States.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, the Biden administration introduced a <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/immigration-parole-trump-biden-latin-america-hungary-vietnam-cuba-venezuela-6deab463a9cc596b2cd1adc6443da787\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">parole program<\/a> that has had significant consequences. This program allows up to 30,000 asylum-seekers from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to enter the U.S. each month. The program allowed the Biden administration to release nearly half a million \u201cinadmissible aliens\u201d into the interior of the U.S., often with \u201clittle or no vetting,\u201d according to the House Committee on Homeland Security\u2019s latest <a href=\"https:\/\/homeland.house.gov\/2024\/05\/22\/startling-stats-factsheet-biden-administration-on-track-to-reach-10-million-encounters-nationwide-before-end-of-fiscal-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fact sheet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d93d10e994481914529c6b1cf6d6fe3b fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d93d10e994481914529c6b1cf6d6fe3b\"><\/div>\n<p>While the focus has been on the southern border, encounters at the northern border in April this year increased <a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/house.us11.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=98549d605f077248c2019d3db&#038;id=edfcccec1f&#038;e=b65df44cde__;!!Bg5easoyC-OII2vlEqY8mTBrtW-N4OJKAQ!MvZ2z0VhS-GpvZTdDwuxYoJebIciP7YWbTNW_xxRCa3vhkoXIvnHub7tsrEVp8f9w2L2MYKF_Zgzl9MJ6Kx76HmXzNZzuVbUDMo6BfF2y-2s_eBcx3UX%24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">by a staggering 1,240 percent<\/a> compared to April 2021. Under Biden, the U.S. is projected to reach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/immigration\/3007611\/border-officials-encounter-10-million-migrants-under-biden-september-green\/#:~:text=At%20the%20current%20rate%2C%20the,Green%20(R%2DTN).\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">10 million encounters<\/a> at America\u2019s borders well before the end of the fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>Many American cities have been struggling to accommodate the influx of a record number of illegal migrants. Denver\u2019s mayor, Democrat Mike Johnson, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrandonLRichard\/status\/1755997353671106562?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1755997353671106562%7Ctwgr%5E9e0ffc3e7fa5877d34ffc60b3fadc8d357a12b59%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.denver7.com%2Fnews%2Ffront-range%2Fdenver%2Fdenver-mayor-announces-reduction-in-dmv-and-parks-rec-after-failure-of-bipartisan-congress-immigration-bill\">announced<\/a> the reduction of regular city services from the Department of Motor Vehicles to Parks and Recreation in order to fund services for migrants. New York City Mayor Eric Adams <a href=\"https:\/\/r.search.yahoo.com\/_ylt=Awrg0Ub152Bm3ykEp7tXNyoA;_ylu=Y29sbwNncTEEcG9zAzEEdnRpZAMEc2VjA3Ny\/RV=2\/RE=1718836470\/RO=10\/RU=https%3a%2f%2fwww.nytimes.com%2f2023%2f09%2f07%2fnyregion%2fadams-migrants-destroy-nyc.html\/RK=2\/RS=MofqdlH3X.qYMq._Bj.JPDy8lOc-\">declared<\/a> that his city\u2019s migrant crisis would destroy the city, and the City Council is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysun.com\/article\/new-york-city-bill-aims-to-repeal-sanctuary-status-as-migrant-arrivals-surpass-200000\">considering a bill<\/a> that will repeal the city\u2019s sanctuary-city status.<\/p>\n<p>Not to mention, our lawless border poses such a national security concern that even some illegal migrants have become worried. An illegal immigrant from Turkey <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/turkish-migrant-crossing-us-border-says-americans-right-concerned-no-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> Fox News recently that the American people were right to be concerned about the\u00a0lack of security checks at the southern border.<\/p>\n<p>However, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sahilkapur\/status\/1797983513989566840\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recent interview with Time<\/a>, Biden made a perplexing statement. He expressed no remorse for overturning Trump\u2019s immigration policies and absolved himself of any responsibility for the border crisis. In fact, he went as far as to say that his only mistake was taking too long to replace Trump\u2019s immigration policy with his open-border policy \u2014 even though he implemented it on his very first day as the president of the United States. It\u2019s a contradiction American voters should not forget.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5113355af13e0185feeb3c0e61d5f6cb fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5113355af13e0185feeb3c0e61d5f6cb\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Won\u2019t Restore Order<\/h2>\n<p>The second reason Americans should be furious with Biden\u2019s latest EO on immigration is that it would not \u201chelp us to gain control of our border, restore order to the process,\u201d as Biden claimed.<\/p>\n<p>The EO\u2019s ban is full of loopholes. Its restriction on asylum-seekers only kicks in after illegal crossings exceed 2,500 per day. Even if this cap is strictly observed, it means nearly 1 million illegal border crossings annually, which is still a record-high number. Of course, we shouldn\u2019t pretend the Biden administration officials will strictly enforce the 2,500 daily cap because the EO allows Alejandro Mayorkas, secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and a key architect of the Biden administration\u2019s \u201copen border\u201d policy, to override the cap for all kinds of \u201chumanitarian\u201d reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s EO grants many other exceptions designed to weaken the asylum restrictions. For example, since unaccompanied children\/minors are exempt from Biden\u2019s EO, parents and human traffickers will continue to send children and minors crossing the border. Illegal immigrants who used the CBP One mobile app to seek asylum would be excluded from the 2,500 daily cap.<\/p>\n<p>Increasingly, the majority of our southern border encounters involve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2021\/11\/09\/whats-happening-at-the-u-s-mexico-border-in-7-charts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">migrants from countries other than Mexico<\/a>, including close to 25,000 illegal migrants from China in this fiscal year alone. Mexico is unlikely to take non-Mexican migrants back, and many countries won\u2019t even take their own citizens back. Even if these countries are willing to take their citizens back, they will demand the U.S. cover the cost and logistics. It\u2019s going be an expensive endeavor and administrative nightmare for the U.S. to send migrants from all over the world back to their home countries. Thus, the only likely outcome is that the Biden administration will continue to release them inside the U.S. This reality will incentivize the Mexican cartels, which essentially control illegal border crossings, to send even more migrants from all over the world into the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Also, keep in mind that the EO doesn\u2019t stop the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/immigration-parole-trump-biden-latin-america-hungary-vietnam-cuba-venezuela-6deab463a9cc596b2cd1adc6443da787\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">parole program<\/a> that allows up to 30,000 asylum-seekers into the U.S. each month from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela combined. In summary, Biden\u2019s EO is an unserious approach that won\u2019t have any meaningful effect on restricting illegal border crossings and enhancing border security.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pandering to Voters<\/h2>\n<p>Lastly, Biden\u2019s EO is nothing but pandering to voters in an election year. For nearly three years, the Biden administration insisted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/karine-jean-pierre-faces-backlash-claiming-border-open-bold-faced-lie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">that<\/a> the border was not \u201copen\u201d and that there had been no border crisis. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/karine-jean-pierre-faces-backlash-claiming-border-open-bold-faced-lie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attacked anyone<\/a> who criticized Biden\u2019s open-border policy as \u201csimply doing the work of these smugglers\u201d and \u201cspreading misinformation which is very dangerous.\u201d Even after <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/611135\/immigration-surges-top-important-problem-list.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">polls showed<\/a> illegal immigration had become a top concern for voters, Biden continued to insist his hands were tied.<\/p>\n<p>Yet Biden conveniently issued an EO on immigration before his upcoming presidential debate with Trump. The timing and various exemptions embedded in the EO demonstrate that Biden isn\u2019t interested in solving the border crisis that was entirely his making. Instead, he merely seeks political cover so he can claim he did something about immigration and the border to pander to voters while blaming the border crisis on Republicans. Biden\u2019s EO insults American voters\u2019 intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>The fact sheet from the White House itself <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/06\/04\/fact-sheet-president-biden-announces-new-actions-to-secure-the-border\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admits<\/a> the proposed actions in the EO are not permanent. If Biden secures a second term, he probably will revoke any restrictions imposed by this EO and exacerbate America\u2019s border crisis. As a Wall Street Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/joe-biden-border-executive-order-immigration-b1d681f8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">editorial<\/a> rightly points out, \u201cNo President in memory has done more harm to political support for legal immigration than Mr. Biden.
