The Commission on Judicial Conduct recommended\u200d censure after citing issues with \u200bhis behavior and\u2062 connections. Despite not facing \u200dcharges, Grisanti&#8217;s judicial \u2063future \u200bis uncertain as his term nears\u200b its end. Although not charged, Grisanti&#8217;s future in\u200d the judiciary remains uncertain as his term approaches its conclusion.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/%20\"><span>Johnathan Jones<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 6, 2024 at 5:19pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>A New York acting state State Supreme Court judge who was censured earlier this year after he shoved a police officer while shitless following a 2020 fight with his neighbors will be replaced on the bench.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Mark Grisanti, <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Mark_Grisanti\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a former state senator<\/a> who went viral in 2020 after police <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lifeless-body-actor-yellowstone-spinoff-found-wooded-area\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">body cameras<\/a> caught him shoving a cop and name-dropping connections and family members, will no longer hold the gavel after his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-to-headline-north-carolina-gop-convention-this-summer\/\" title=\"Trump To Headline North Carolina GOP Convention This Summer\">current term ends<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/new-york-judge-police-officer-brawl-replaced\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS News<\/a> reported Grisanti, who was considered a \u201choldover,\u201d was not notified of any action against him, but his name was not among 25 judicial nominees put forth by Democratic New York Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ny-gov-kathy-hochul-scrambles-to-get-businesses-to-stay-tries-to-downplay-massive-fine-against-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kathy Hochul<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">New York Supreme Court judge seen shoving officer during brawl with neighbors will be replaced on the bench <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EZLQr31X4P\">https:\/\/t.co\/EZLQr31X4P<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CBS Mornings (@CBSMornings) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBSMornings\/status\/1798724024442179725?\">June 6, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In April, the state\u2019s Commission on Judicial Conduct met to decide the judge\u2019s fate.<\/p>\n<p>An effort to have him removed was shot down, but the commission recommended Grisanti\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/top-republican-protected-adam-schiff-censure-faces-serious-challenger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">censure<\/a> in a 6-4 vote.<\/p>\n<p>Not only did the commission raise the issue of Grisanti\u2019s run-in with Buffalo police, but also his decision to preside over cases with an attorney to whom he had a financial connection.<\/p>\n<p>In an April <a href=\"https:\/\/cjc.ny.gov\/Press.Releases\/2024.Releases\/Grisanti.Mark.Release.2024-04-30.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a>, the commission shared a few notes about the 2020 incident involving Grisanti and officers.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Is New York still a desirable place to live?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cOn June 22, 2020, Judge Grisanti instigated a verbal and physical altercation with a neighbor and his wife over a parking spot,\u201d the commission said.<\/p>\n<p>The release continued:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon seeing the neighbors\u2019 car parked near his own driveway, Judge Grisanti called 911. Before Buffalo police officers arrived, both Judge Grisanti and his wife confronted and yelled profanities at the neighbors, who responded in kind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring their confrontation, the parties came into rough physical contact with one another. Upon arriving at the scene, two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nancy-pelosi-served-subpoena-related-to-husbands-attack-trial\/\" title=\"Nancy Pelosi receives subpoena in husband's assault trial.\">police officers captured<\/a> the ensuing events on body cameras.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Video taken by officers in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-buffalo-celebrates-nations-first-black-veterans-day-eyebrow-raising-flag-spotted-eagle-eyed-viewers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buffalo<\/a> showed one cop \u201cgrabbed Mrs. Grisanti and brought her to the ground attempting to handcuff her,\u201d the commission stated.<\/p>\n<p>From there, according to the account, Grisanti \u201cshoved [the officer] and yelled, \u2018you arrest my f****** wife \u2026 you\u2019re going to be sorry,\u2019 and \u2018my son \u2026and my daughter are \u2026 both police officers.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The news release from the commission concluded the judge was placed in a squad car, where he continued to \u201cdrop the names of high-ranking police officials,\u201d including the mayor of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/buffalo-mass-shooter-evacuated-courtroom-victims-family-member-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the city<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nfbC5LjTx9E?si=9Fu85TuqOnyMigGh\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Grisanti was never charged with a crime.<\/p>\n<p>Before he was appointed to the bench in 2015, Grisanti owned a private law firm, which he sold to two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/multiple-attorneys-general-join-together-sue-biden-bid-block-illegal-student-loan-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attorneys<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The committee said that Grisanti sold the firm to attorneys Peter Pecoraro and Matthew Lazroe for a down payment of $15,000 and monthly payments of $730 thereafter.<\/p>\n<p>The judge was involved in eight cases with Lazroe either during the time the payments were being made or during the 24 months after the balance was satisfied.<\/p>\n<p>Grisanti will sit on the bench until his replacement is confirmed.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
