The gifts, including \u200ctrips and luxury\u2063 experiences, have faced scrutiny but Thomas denies\u2063 any wrongdoing.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Supreme Court\">Supreme Court<\/a> Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/clarence-thomas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Supreme Court\">Clarence Thomas<\/a> received almost all of the nearly $5 million in \u201cgifts\u201d given to justices since 2004, according to a liberal watchdog.<\/p>\n<p>The new <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/14l25NLvBOd9sk4mArK4k7dtV0MUwxr5GBuLHL5Sp8lo\/edit#gid=1166051249\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"data\">data<\/a> were released by Fix the Court, a group born from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/perspective-stop-whining-plebs-the-dc-elite-are-also-suffering\/\" title=\"Perspective: Stop Whining, Plebs, the DC \u00c9lite Are Also Suffering\">liberal nonprofit organization<\/a> New Venture Fund. Its release comes as Thomas has been heavily scrutinized by Democrats for his accepting of \u201cgifts,\u201d which the Left has argued taints his impartiality. Thomas has received an estimated $4,042,286 in gifts, out of $4,755,147 received by all 17 current and retired justices since 2004.<\/p>\n<p>If another 126 \u201clikely\u201d gifts given to Thomas are added, the total rises to $6,592,657, amounting to 672 gifts total. Even this, the watchdog said, is likely an undercount.<\/p>\n<p>The single most expensive gift was five trips to Bohemian Grove, valued at $262,500. Among his other gifts were private flights, tickets to sports games, helicopter rides, and meals and lodging in Jamaica.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the gifts were already documented in <em>ProPublica<\/em> reports, which began the backlash against Thomas. He has not been proven to have done anything wrong, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/397611\/clarence-thomas-responds-to-accusations-about-undisclosed-gifts-amid-outcry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"responded\">responded<\/a> to criticisms in April.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHarlan and Kathy Crow are among our dearest friends, and we have been friends for over twenty-five years. As friends do, we have joined them on a number of family trips during the more than quarter century we have known them,\u201d Thomas and his wife said in a statement. \u201cEarly in my tenure at the Court, I sought guidance from my colleagues and others in the judiciary, and was advised that this sort of personal hospitality from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/san-francisco-democratic-mayor-agrees-to-pay-more-than-22k-for-ethics-violations\/\" title=\"San Francisco Democratic Mayor Agrees To Pay More Than K For Ethics Violations\">close personal friends<\/a>, who did not have business before the Court, was not reportable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have endeavored to follow that counsel throughout my tenure, and have always sought to comply with the disclosure guidelines,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cThese guidelines are now being changed, as the committee of the Judicial Conference responsible for financial disclosure for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lol-aoc-threatens-to-file-impeachment-article-against-clarence-thomas\/\" title=\"Lol: AOC Threatens to File Impeachment Article Against Clarence Thomas\">entire federal judiciary<\/a> just this past month announced new guidance. And, it is, of course, my intent to follow this guidance in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republicans have argued that Democrats\u2019 critiques of Thomas, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/supreme-court\/3021146\/alito-refuses-recuse-supreme-court-cases-flag-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>as well as<\/a> Justice Samuel Alito, are part of a smear campaign to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/beltway-confidential\/3015036\/democrats-alito-ramblings-about-delegitimizing-supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>delegitimize the court<\/a> in an effort to win back control in the judiciary.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fix the Court has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2454740\/supreme-court-ethics-activist-admits-lobbying-disclosure-failure-i-have-been-corrected\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"plagued\">plagued<\/a> with its own problems, with leader Gabe Roth admitting failures with the group.
