Socially transitioning\u200b children may also lead \u200dto\u2062 future medical interventions.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>More than 100 health care professionals and groups have signed onto a declaration calling on major medical organizations to halt dangerous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/transgender\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transgender<\/a> medical interventions for children.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cDoctors Protecting Children Declaration\u201d was <a href=\"https:\/\/doctorsprotectingchildren.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed<\/a> by doctors, nurses, psychotherapists, scientists, researchers, and others, who announced the declaration at a Thursday press conference in Washington, D.C., The Daily Signal first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2024\/06\/06\/exclusive-doctors-urge-top-medical-orgs-stop-harming-kids-transgender-surgeries-hormones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are here defying the claims made by these medical organizations in the U.S. that those of us who are concerned are a minority, and that their protocols are consensus,\u201d Dr. Jill Simmons, a pediatrician and the executive director for the American College of Pediatricians, <a href=\"https:\/\/catholicvote.org\/doctors-protecting-children-coalition-declaration-against-trans-surgeries-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> at the press conference. \u201cThey are not consensus, and we are speaking in a loud and unified voice: enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The group said in their declaration that they have \u201cserious concerns about the physical and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/5-times-more-children-died-by-suicide-than-died-from-covid-in-the-uk\/\" title=\"5 Times More Children Died By Suicide Than Died From COVID In The UK\">mental health effects<\/a> of the current protocols promoted for the care of children and adolescents in the United States who express discomfort with their biological sex.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The declaration sounded the alarm on subjecting gender dysphoric children to medical interventions like transgender surgeries, cross-sex hormones, and puberty blockers, saying these treatments involve \u201cserious long-term risks\u201d including \u201csterility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvidence-based medical research now demonstrates there is little to no benefit from any or all suggested \u2018gender affirming\u2019 interventions for adolescents experiencing Gender Dysphoria. Social \u2018affirmation,\u2019 puberty blockers, masculinizing or feminizing hormones, and surgeries, individually or in combination, do not appear to improve long-term mental health of the adolescents, including suicide risk,\u201d the group said.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1716990157394000&#038;usg=AOvVaw33qQydjIo8bet419amChif\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>One issue is the lack of long-term followup studies on children who have undergone these treatments, the group noted. Another issue is the \u201cimmature, often impulsive, nature of the adolescent brain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost children and adolescents whose thoughts and feelings do not align with their biological sex will resolve those mental incongruencies after experiencing the normal developmental process of puberty,\u201d the health care providers wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Also, socially transitioning children, which can involve a child picking a new name and pronouns and changing their appearance, can lead to medical interventions later, warned the group, which includes several psychiatrists and counselors.<\/p>\n<p>The group also took issue with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), saying its guidelines are \u201cdemonstrably flawed,\u201d yet many gender clinics follow them.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, psychotherapy for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/its-demonic-religious-mothers-mourn-how-trans-movement-is-devouring-sons-find-solace-in-secret-online-group\/\" title=\"\u2018It\u2019s Demonic\u2019: Religious Mothers Mourn How Trans Movement Is \u2018Devouring\u2019 Sons, Find Solace In Secret Online Group\">underlying mental health issues<\/a> like autism, depression, anxiety, and trauma should be the \u201cfirst line of treatment\u201d for children experiencing discomfort with their biological sex, the group said.<\/p>\n<p>The group noted that other countries including England, Scotland, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland have all pumped the brakes on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-candidate-dr-oz-had-repeatedly-platformed-transgender-activists-on-tv-show\/\" title=\"GOP Candidate Dr. Oz Had Repeatedly Platformed Transgender Activists on TV Show\">transgender medical interventions<\/a> for children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite all the above evidence that gender affirming treatments are not only unhelpful, but are harmful, and despite the knowledge that the adolescent brain is immature, professional medical organizations in the United States continue to promote these interventions,\u201d the group said. \u201cFurther, they state that legislation to protect children from harmful interventions is dangerous since it interferes with necessary medical care for children and adolescents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The declaration called on the main U.S. medical organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Endocrine Society, the American Medical Association, and the American Psychological Association to \u201cimmediately stop\u201d promoting social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstead, these organizations should recommend comprehensive evaluations and therapies aimed at identifying and addressing underlying psychological co-morbidities and neurodiversity that often predispose to and accompany gender dysphoria,\u201d the group stated.<\/p>\n<p>Several health care organizations signed onto the declaration as well, including the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the Catholic Medical Association, Genspect, and the National Association of Catholic Nurses.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over 100 healthcare professionals and groups signed the &#8220;Doctors Protecting Children Declaration,&#8221;
